Steam sold me a broken game (XCOM: Chimera Squad) and refused a refund.
Good job, Valve. Keep driving me into the hands of GoG and your other competitors.

The only reason I don't delete my account is because you scumbags are holding my games hostage.

XCOM Chimera Squad works fine for me and thousands of others.
Runs fine on my rather dated computer.
What exactly is your problem?
Instead of ranting, maybe share more information so people can help, either about the problems you are having with the game, or why the refund was declined?
Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Figure your problem out, it's not on Steam's end in any case: Steam has no control whatsoever over games that Valve did not publish. Complain to the publisher of the game.
The broken 3rd wave in Sacred Coil Cathedral. Firaxis knew about it from day 1, they released a patch that didn't fix it. I can't continue the game because the game is caught in a loop and won't let me restart or exit the mission.

I've given them plenty of time to deliver a fix, I want my money back.

But no says the man in Redmond, it belongs to Krispy Kreme.

I was able to beat the game, including Sacred Coil.
Had it crash once when reinforcements in a random mission appeared at the same time as a car exploded. Otherwise, no issue for me.
Haven't heard of such a bug yet.
Then you aren't paying attention or you just don't care because the issue doesn't affect you.

Where does the OP say "steam refused to help me fix my game" ?

No, he's saying that because he has no issues there seems nothing wrong with the game, which also makes your claim for refunding a broken product quite dubious. How is a product broken when it works for a majority of players?

Sorry to say but you see your kind of reactions all over the place; a game doesn't work for someone and thus the game is dubbed "broken", even if it isn't broken at all or... even if there is an issue but it was caused by the player themselves.
You can try requesting a manual refund, but this is a user forum, so is there some help that you need or something?

Clearly you aren't aware of the massive bug problems that are plaguing this game.

A manual refund? I'm not sure what you mean, and that's because Valve doesn't even tell us that's an option.
if you do not wanna contact the dev to potentially fix your issue ...
delete your save and start again?!

aren't xcom games not meant to be replayed anyway?

And yet they do, as clearly described at the top of this article (thus very hard to miss): https://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds

I quote & emphasize:
You can request a refund for nearly any purchase on Steam—for any reason. Maybe your PC doesn't meet the hardware requirements; maybe you bought a game by mistake; maybe you played the title for an hour and just didn't like it.

It doesn't matter. Valve will, upon request via help.steampowered.com, issue a refund for any reason, if the request is made within the required return period, and, in the case of games, if the title has been played for less than two hours. There are more details below, but even if you fall outside of the refund rules we’ve described, you can ask for a refund anyway and we’ll take a look.
(edit): I found this article by merely Google'ing for "steam refund option", if I can do it so can others.

So at this point in time I can't help wonder if this is about looking for an answer or just one of those threads which only want to bash Steam. Either way... I'm off, good luck with whatever.

Everybody I know that has the game and played through it, does not suffer from this issue you have. So no, it's not a broken game.

Manual refund: Find the purchase, choose "I have a question about this purchase".

While that is true, no article tells HOW one should ask for a manual ticket for refunds.

Based on achievements 34,4% of the global playerbase for the game has completed said mission. Sounds like the game is far from broken.
You played for 7.8 HOURS

It’s obviously not “broken”

So yes steam CORRECTLY refused your refund for being 4x over the refund limit

Yes let’s also spam the forums and hijack other threads because that’s a great idea
