Bought a key and can't activate it in my country.
Hello, I just bought Postal Redux from a German Keystore and they didn't say anything like "can't be activated in Germany". The store I bought the key on is called instantgaming. Now my money is wasted because steam won't let me activate the key.

there is nothing anyone here could do, that is a thing between you and that key store.

Contact the German Keystore and explain.

This is NOT a Steam issue. You did not buy the game on Steam.

This is not an issue with Valve/Steam.

It is because they won't let me activate a game even thought it worked with other games yesterday.

You talk to support for the site where the key was purchased.

So pick your games more wisely or better yet: verify up front that you can actually purchase the game on Steam. You should probably complain to your government about certain games being unavailable.

You do realize that Steam is under no obligation at all to activate any of this, right?

In the end: purchase a game on Steam and you'll be sure about where you stand. Use 3rd parties and well, you're on your own.

That's why I bought it, I can't even see the storepage from the game because Germany is still in it's 30s.

Really, you should be contacting the sellers of the key to try get yourself a refund, Be polite and just explain the problem to them. If this fails, why not find out the region of the key and try to trade it on the games community hub? Don't forget to mention the key is region locked. That's if trading keys is still allowed.

1. The responses are correct and to the point.

2. Trading keys is not supported on Steam.

They are not helpfull, let's change the topic, did you read what I say? I bought the key because I couldn't even view the storepage on Steam. It worked with other games like Dying Light aswell but this time it didn't and it makes no sense.

If you can't buy the game on Steam due to regional restrictions then you wont be able to add a digital or physical key of the licence either because the product is restricted entirely.

I read everything.

Ok... How is that Steam's fault for your governments restrictions?

Because the key can't be activated in your country. Simple as that.

If you can't get a refund, then maybe see if they will allow you to exchange it for a key you can use for the same value.

Than again I can say, why was it working with Dying Light and Manhunt? Both games are restricted in Germany and I bought them from a Keystore.
