Feel free to read the forum rules in the mean time to 'solve' your problem
Cussed out someone, who had previously admitted to cheating and defended others who cheat.
They claimed to have reported me and began to follow me around the forum, provoking me. (Yeah, I need to learn to just not bother posting, at all. Like this thread)
I get a 24h ban (hoenstly, I only care that I was unable to upload a screenshot) and they get off scott free.
I had spent the majority of December trying to be helpful and supportive of new players, with regards to the DS3 forums. Towards the end of the month, because it is ♥♥♥♥ing xmas and this season sucks donkey donger and my patience had run out with people asking if cheating was "okay to do" (I could make aspersions regarding their upbringing. Could.) among other "do you really have to ask?" posts, I just ran out of patience and when the user whom, I assume, got me banned, posted about hosting a tournament I lost my cool and cussed him out for hosting a tournament (something that should have a degree of integrity to it) as an admitted cheater. MY BAD, I guess.
Ain't the first time this♥♥♥♥♥♥has happened. And it is all my fault for not being able to stop myself from clicking on the discussion page, in the first place. I know these places are cess-pools of the lower eschelons of society (myself included) and are only going to lead to confrontation. Like here; I just came along to comment that I was non-plussed about being unable to upload a screenshot and you had to get all White-Knight about it, with no real concept as to the backstory involved with the situation. Jumped down my throat and linked me rules. Do you feel better, now that you've thrown the book at a bad boy? And people wonder why I lose my cool, when dealing with them.
EDIT; The above was a reply to the previous thread that did not get through before it was locked. Yes, I am aware this is likely going to result in THIS thread getting locked, as a result. (and there goes any credibility I may have had. With regards to this topic, at least.)
Let the moderators do the moderating. Backseat moderating is when people who are not moderators try to enforce the forum rules. If you see a person breaking the rules, take advantage of the Report () button or simply ignore the offensive post(s), thread, or review.

Yes, your bad for losing your temper.
Forums are asynchronous and indirect communication. You do not have to reply to every thread. You do not have to reply at once. If you feel you are losing your cool, step away for a bit. If you notice you get wrought up typing a reply take a deep breath, re-read and then decide if it's worth to hit the "post comment" button. You wil realize that most of the time it is not.
Just facepalm as hard as you can, go into a corner and weep for humanity.
Thank you for the link, for relevence. :)
I have been working, obviously with limited success, on over-coming the need to defend myself from every accusation (regardless of how baseless) I have spent a lot of my life being a push-over and "easy target", so I tend to take things personally, easily. Oddly, Dark Souls (at least playing the game and not so much interacting with the community) has been somewhat helpful; Patience and Perseverence.... I just need to get better about remembering that, is all.
"Do not argue with the stupid, they will only drag you down and beat you with experience", right?
Then again, how bright am I, for replying in the first place? HRM? waitasecond...
Something like that, yes. Don't forget, the internet is a faceless world where people throw around stuff more easily, as it's anonymous. If you let that get to you, you already "lost".
As Cinedine points out, you've got to ask yourself the question "why?". Why should you bother with replying to some people.
I do the same, I sometimes type a post ready to click "post comment", but then decide to not post it as it'll bring me nothing. Sometimes it's just not worth it, mate.
