debit card refunds

if i refund a game and choose to get the money on my debit card, do i get it instantly? cause i bought a game with my steam wallet and my card, and i refunded the game, and the thing only says 1,19 euro pending (it's the 1,19 euro from my steam wallet)

Thats the way it is, if you want a fast refund, use Steam wallet money.

if you click on the pending amount in steam, it will tell you when that money becomes available for you to use again.

for the refund to external payment methods ... that takes no set amount of time and is dependent on everyone in the chain and the chain does not only consist of you and Steam. there are at minimum 3 others in there, one of which is your financial provider. on good days this takes a few days, on bad days this takes weeks.

Where is my refund? My refund was approved, but it’s been more than 7 days.

Approved refunds can take up to 7 days to appear in your account – however, refunds to international payment methods may take longer. If your refund hasn’t appeared after 7 days, please contact your bank directly and ask about pending refunds on your account.

Please note: When a refund request is approved within 24 hours of the purchase, the original transaction is cancelled and the charge drops off your bank statement. In this case, you will not see a credit on your account. This process can take up to 10 days – wait time for international payment methods may vary.

Still can’t find your refund? Please review your recent purchase history; you may have used the funds to make another purchase!

It's slow due to banks involved. Reversing a transaction is a way more complicated process than just doing one.

Steam doesn’t get the money instantly either, it just looks like that. I can check a charge a day or so later with my credit card and it’ll be pending.

Valve acts in good faith based on the information based by the payment processor. Money does not go instantly into their accounts.

I was talking more on behalf of the banks perspective, not Valves. Like I said, they can easily manage your digital money like nothing and make it disappear rather easily. It's the same with your ISP. Flick of a switch on their end can shut your service off but for some reason they need send a service tech to hook it back up lol

when was this implemented i remember youll refund and get it on your steam account instead of back on the payment used, did they change it?

but yeah it depends it can take about as fast as soon as you issue it to about 2weeks if i recall

Nah, it was always a choice of the original payment method or the Steam wallet.

i need the money now for drugs smh, nah but for real its been 3 days and my steam wallet money is in but my debit card still hasn't received any money nor has the original charge disappeard. i dont know if i should be concerned because it was about 15$ and i kinda want to save up for a vr head set or some ♥♥♥♥. idk i dont get much money a week so thats why i care.
