Have you clean internal fan and change thermal pasta in last 12 months?

Might be time to clean out your vents and fans. Dust clog's up.

First of all take it to the nearest service for cleaning and changing the thermal paste. Then pre-install the windows and install only the important programs/drivers, never forget chipset/video/audio and camera drivers. Then possibly your laptop will be fixed.

Dell xps are not built for gaming... They have great specs but they are meant for working so their "thermal design" is not suitable for many consecutive hours of gaming but you can try to clean it (i doubt it will solve your problem though)

Don't need to change your paste unless the paste job was bad from the start, in which case the overheating wouldn't have been recent, or the paste used is some really really crappy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ $0.59 knockoff crap. And you definitely don't need to reinstall Windows.

Either the vents are clogged, or a fan is failing/failed. You'd be surprised how many times it's the latter, and the people have no clue and are just happy that "the annoying sound is gone" without understanding that computers need to be cooled.

How warm is it in your room? Don't expect your machinery to keep cool at 80°F/27°C the same way it does at 70°F/21°C.

that is way too hot to expect any form of cooling for a laptop.

you can save your hassle to do anything to that machine. nothing will change that overheat.

how are you even surviving or doing anything? i would require a bathtub of water a day to even be able to sit for a few minutes.

I used to have a laptop, that would overheat, so I sat it on two books, either end, to lift the vents off the table. worked for me.
