I actually use both types. I aim third person shooters with normal but fly planes with inverted.
You can get used to it easily once u get the concept behind inverted controls.
Just imagine you stick a lever in spyros ass or on his back. When you want him to fly up, his head tilts up and his body pivots and rotates backwards. And when you want him to point his head down, his body pivots forwards.
Hopefully u can still play with these controls while you wait and hope they add in the extra option.
Invert mouse for flying is only with the mouse, I'd rather fly using my controller and perhaps sometimes WASD
Total joke!
For me, they just switch randomly from non inverted to inverted lol!
I'm not going to judge whether you prefer that or not, I use the default inverted flying pitch 90% the time because it makes sense to me, but I never use inverted pitch for aiming whether its fps, something like a turret, or camera controls, and if you invert those then you're an animal. :)
I don't want to avoid using the mouse because of a bug lol.
