Space Haven

Beta 2 Feedback
I'm on my first run still, on day 110 or so, medium difficulty, and I really like the station mode so far.

The beginning was chill and I liked clearing the asteroid from bots and salvaging/mining stuff. After some time I realized that I would run low on critical resources and food. Enabling the repair service saved my ass I guess, and also selling Hyperfuel (turning the service on when I had some, then turning it off again to avoid bad reputation, which was a little tedious).

Right now I am at a stage where I also provide diner, beds and entertainment, and I make good money. My crew grew from 6 to 9 people. But one thing is that up until now I NEVER did any away mission. The galaxy was cluttered with missions in no time, but I never found the time and resources to send away part of my crew as I had enough to do to keep my station running, to expand, to loot, to trade, to defend etc.

At times, there was way too much going on at the same time. I once had the situation where there were 3 base derelicts, 3 ship wrecks, 3 resource asteroids and 3 other ships in my sector. two of the derelicts continuously spawned rogue bots, and additionaly other rogue bots entered the sector. then, two Haven Foundation ships arrived in the sector, it was pure chaos.
I could handle everything, but it was way too much to enjoy it. There should be a (lower) maximum of stuff in the sector. And there should be less away missions, and they should probably only start to appear after 1-2 in-game months, not right from the beginning.

As for the tourists: They feel a little too robotic as they don't talk to each other. I wish that could be changed in the future for better immersion.

The shuttles show some weird behavior sometimes, but I can't recall every instance.
One issue is that NPC shuttles often fly to a point BELOW my asteroid base, then have to fly to a point outside the asteroid and upwards to get to my hangar.
Another time one of my shuttles flew to a derelict with transferrable items, but "forgot" to take crew with it. It docked, undocked and flew back.
I also noticed that when I set a derelict for salvage, then UNchecked salvage because I changed my mind, I couldn't stop a shuttle that already prepared to take in crew and fly to the derelict from doing so. It was determined to fly to that derelict!

All in all very good work! I really enjoy the new mode.

I can confirm some of these issues. I've seen the shuttles flying to the wrong side of the asteroid, directly at the point they're aiming for, just on the wrong side.

I dig the idea of having the tourists talk to each other.

The shuttle routing issues are I think universal in the game, and personally I have raised the issues before. :) It is frustrating and IMO some more if/then logic could be added to fix the issues.

I maybe disagree with there being too much stuff going on.... but I've only played one station mode so far, with fairly difficult settings, and it was hard as expected. Looking forward to moving this crew and some stuff to a new base...

There often was a ridiculous amount of stuff going on, but there's also often large gaps.. large areas of the orbit where not much is going on. So the last time I had a ridiculous amount of stuff pile up (bots on ships.. so many drones), I had time to take care of all of it eventually. And earlier in the game, I would just let asteroids and ships go if I couldn't deal with them.

I basically haven't done any away missions yet. :) I did try one a few times via saves and realized all of my crew were going to bleed out on their way back...? meant to try this again after having researched better med supplies. Everyone had bandages but there was nowhere safe to use them. I plan on doing more of these at the next base. For at least half of the game, I didn't feel like I had enough crew to do one of these safely, but now I have like 30.

I would like for the arms dealer inventory to expand to armor, attachments, etc.

And I did the fuel service and got a terrible reputation before I realized I needed to turn it off when inventory was low. :)

The hostile raiding parties is neat and all, but so far, weak. I wouldn't want a few shuttles landing in the early game, but late game, a single shuttle is not a big deal. And I'm a bit surprised I haven't seen any actual pirate ships pop into orbit and give me a pounding. :) So far I haven't researched ship weapons, and I have practically all of the research. Maybe this could be an option? Because it would make things a lot harder. This was already pretty rough but fun. :)

In general, I love this update!!!!!!!
