Some serious Bugs that can kill complete sessions in new station mode
when starting a new station run the work prioritys are total bonkers, for example a crewmember with build at max 10 (with actual 2) is denyied doing it, or getting it at superlow priority.

Edit: another bug: when you have no shuttle parking airlock, the shuttles tend to go into draft mode. seems one shuttle hasnt disconnected from an derelic in time because of that, and just now i needed to reload because the last shuttle gone into draft mode again without me noticing, killing crew on an away mission on a derelic (no oxgen for them left because they where not picked up...) . seems to happen mostly when the shuttle sits on the loading ramp without anything to do, after some time it lifts of and goes into draft.

Editedit: coud now kick a finaly surviving orbit station start save in the dumpster because both my shuttles driftet into limbo thnx to the autodraft i guess. seriosly, fix thsi autodrafting shuttles, at best yesterday.
no meaning in starting another try as long this isnt fixed, it will ever again ruin the game before it can even lift off from the start survival phase....

I have never seen either of those. self-drafting shuttles? what the hell?? :-)

while the default priorities might be set more to what they can do now vs their future potential, because starting out, it might be many game days before a new player even looks at schedules and priorities... say Crewman1 has Operations 3(5) and Shield 1(8) then yes probably Operations will be set higher than Shields.

I have never seen anything turned to disabled unless I did it, if they have 1, it might be at the lowest priority but nothing but the empty blocks, the things they can't learn, are blocked from doing.

wait, how are you getting these shuttles? you can't claim a shuttle as yours without a pod dock for it, so they're gray and abandoned... that should not be "yours" unless you pilfered some on an away mission, and yes, those do behave goofy, but if the original people on them are still on them, nothing happens to them, they're basically in stasis... when you finally dock and disembark, they're in the same shape, same health/energy/air as when they boarded.

you definitely should F11 and send that save along to BB if this isn't something self-inflicted!
well im not new, if i woud be, my crew woud never make 5 gamedays it in the station mode thnx to this quirky prios, have never seen anythinmg like this in the 13 version updates i have played.

i got the shuittles because i was useing orbit station start with 6 ppl.
so you only get the materials in haulers and the crew in shuttles. (more exactly you get 3 moduls and one hauler with resources)
so nothing self induced, just what the game gave me. and with that start you cant build a shuttle bay right away, thnx to the odd asteroid layouts. that also brings a second problem, because at the outside loading ramp the shuttles cant restock oxy, what means your away team on derelics cant get refills.

and as another feedback: the compardment modul is badly balanced, as is, it ensures mental breakdowns in few days (read: faster than you even can start building the real base to evade the mental mess) and the missing of a gas scrubber can be a fast death sentence if you are not aware of that fact and build on in asap.
I can't say I've ever had a layout where I couldn't immediately build a shuttle port due to lack of space? If that is indeed true submit a support ticket to the devs ingame and it will screenshot for them.

But I suspect your just not quite figuring it because those asteroids are generally massive with lots of space.

I think the shuttle port needs power to generate oxygen (without power it just acts as a place for the shuttle to land) you connect it to the station with conduits.
so I've seen MA "hack" my shuttle and move it to take control of an airlock, I've seen a blocking shuttle that's drafted un-draft itself (usually at a crew schedule transition, like shift 1 waking up) so others can land on a pad, but I have never once seen in ~1500 hours across many builds, seen one draft itself. that is bonkers. love it. love there's even more craziness than I'm personally aware of, and annoyed by. heh. :-)

yeah the breakdowns are really my hurdle, and trying to expand that starter base to have walls and separation chews you meager blocks so fast.... getting useful work out of more than half of them, then some idiot goes and smashes the one machine that will keep us alive and we've got even less blocks now. getting to day 15 can be a nightmare on anything higher than medium, stupid RNG and rando crew from standard start choices w/o editing.

self-drafting shuttles. damn.

dont mix up the external "asteroid shuttle airlocks" with the "asteroid cargo bays". the cargo bays have no airlock and no slot where you crew can fill in water (yes, the external parking places for shuttles and pods eat extra water to generate air for the crafts) .

i have changed my build approach to useing the x01 standard cargo airlocks you use at your ships now, that cirumvented the air refill problem, but still i need to get space, time and resources to build shuttle parkplaces somewhere betwen the nonestop burning of my base to get rid of the autodrafting shuttles.

@DP its not just one automatic move, they really get the draft icon (crossed swords on green background) and hold it until your recognice it. and its total set to the fact they have no parkplace to hang out i think. sometimes the hang out a little longer at a cargo port/airlock but even when nothing else wants to use it, they leave there after some time. its something with this permamoveing area. when a shuttle is in draft it is moved like all the other stuff around your base (thats also the matter why i lost my shuttles in my last run i guess, they driftet out)
i only got it onetimes that i got a warning that a unit was in draftmode to long (at least i only recogniced it ones, hard to tell when the whole right side is plastered with warnings)

also seen a strange pattern sometimes that a shuttle "dances" indefinatly into one direction after dedrafting it.
seriously, it seems alot of the mess is really from this floating mechanism in station mode.

not even giving the shuttles a number helps, because when they are out of the zone the screen only scrolls to the end of the boarder, with no means to select the missing shuttle.

so they need to
a: get rid of the autodrafting and
b: make a script that unhinges the draft when a shuttle reaches the area boarder.
c: make the shuttles come back into seeable screen when leaving it.
ok its worse than i recogniced till now. what i just seen:
my shuttle loaded up for a trade,
got all tradegoods,
disembark,
autodraft,

seriously? it clearly got a traderoute, so WTF it autodraft? only because it got no parkplace to call home when that is curiently total irelevant with the mission at hand?

Editr: Annnnnddd, it gone into autodraft again right after it delivered the goods to the other ship, AT the other ships place.....

seems to happen very often when another ship wants to use a port ocupied from the shuttle, so maybe a wrong scripting for the automove ending in draftmode? but why only as long as the shuttle has no home?
yeah that's why I asked how you were getting the shuttles.

I've seen goofy stuff with the borrowed shuttles from away missions when you get home; you bring back one from a ship rescue or the pirate base or whatever, they are both yours and not yours, you claimed them elsewhere but when they arrive, they're ornery. drafting can ignore you, movement just doesn't go where you told it; so yeah if that's the case I'm not that surprised about auto-drafting. it seems without a home dock, they lose their little minds. guess it can't treat it like an player craft with no home, maybe that's all that's accommodated for as of now? so it's half-yours and half-NPC code hopping?

I was preparing a migration, so when I took the pirate base I brought all the shuttles, one guy or empty for some of them... days later I notice someone I needed as part of a boarding party hotkey group not available, like where the eff is he? never got a crew death message...

he was in a returning shuttle underneath the base, which you can't see til you zoom out, and then on a well-built base that already has 6 actual shuttles, 40-ish crew tons of bots shuffling around, etc. trying to notice the blue diamond underneath some room that doesn't make sense for a shuttle icon... it took some "where's waldo" effort. oh look, there's another, and another! hi guys!

luckily they were still in "away mission stasis" so when I finally tagged it and disembarked, the people on it didn't fall out onto the dock dead, but exactly the same condition as we boarded many days prior. and maybe that's part of it too, until they're claimed and have a home pad, there might be some code that needs to run that initializes it for the player's use and can't, so we get wonky shuttle behavior?

no idea how to type that up as a bug report to make it easier for Allan to know what to look at, other than "shuttles without docks misbehave" 🤷🏻‍♂️

I would love to start a bullet list thread of just one-liners, ultra-concise stuff, to minimize the time he has to look at all the stuff we're finding, not just the broken stuff, but the gameplay and balance stuff. (ain't no one sending an away team away for 2 whole days each direction for the possibility of 10 random loot to stick on the shuttle and one RNG crewman. either incentivize us with "champion" crew to get, valuable loot worth 50k minimum, etc. or make standard rescues and assists spawn much closer to us, 1-8 hours MAX. as there's no reason to go.)

but how to type that up in one line? cause errors, bugs/glitches, playbalance, and QoL probably has dozens in each category. that'll be a long ass list.
i managed it now (after another start agin...) by setting both shuttles in draft myself and keep them near my loading airlock, only undrafting one for the work at hand and checking it nonestop with hotkey number. after i got a parkplace for both they dont autodraftet anymore and where safly useable.
but still, that more than a unneeded hassle.
newe run, another shuttle story:
got already one parkplace for one of the 2, wondered why 4 of my ppl where not back at the staion, looked at the derelic i scrabbed, thistime again the (other parkplaceless) shuttle that shoud take them up gone in draft right at the drerelic so the crew was already near suffocationn trouble. so i undrafted it, shuttle picked up the crew, i scrolled back to base, doing some stuff there, and wondered after some time why the crew wasnt back on the station. hotkeyed the shuttle and my screen zoomed a long way into the nothingness at the other side of my station than the derelic was. shuttle still showed its options so i drafted it and manul ordered it dock at the station, it somehow needed 5 gamehours to do so. seems like it got one of the "dance" fits i described at the start of this threat (it was shown on the minipicture when it was selected too) . so this is script bogus that can happen after the undrafting of autodrafting shuttles can have more fatal endings than just an empty shuttle dance out of the game, it can take a full shuttle out of the picture as well, filled with crew....
