Can I not simply put someone in a shuttle??

Went to a distress signal just now and freed the crew and beat the pirates, but one of my people was downed. I took the pirates prisoner and told one I wanted to recruit to follow me, then picked up my downed crew and carried them to the shuttle.

But then, everything breaks down into sheer stupidity.

If they board the shuttle with the downed crewmate, the shuttle launches without me telling it to, and the pirate is left behind. If they try to dock again it's an act of war (FFS I just freed this crew).

I reloaded and selected my pawn carrying the downed crewmate but when I right click there's no option to just put someone in the shuttle. I also can't apparently tell the pirate to get in first or issue them any order besides to follow.

If that wasn't annoying enough, the ship's freed crew will interact with the pirate and claim them for themselves, so they wander off to their prison even though they still technically have an order visible to follow me.

And when I tried to bug report this the game crashed as I was writing it, which is somehow the only time I've had it crash so far.

Hi there!

1. Keep shuttle drafted at the docked position.
2. Draft a crew member and pick up the downed crew.
3. Now just right click the shuttle and leave it at that. They should start walking towards it and go in.

If icons pop up then choose the enter craft of course.

I've only seen the shuttle move if it is not drafted or it has been accidentally selected with the belief that a crew member is still selected and then a move command is given.

If there is something else going on we will gladly take a look! So let me know if it starts working for you or not.

I ended up reloading to an earlier save and not releasing the crew until after I captured someone and led them to the shuttle. That worked better. It didn't take off and actually my other fighter wasn't downed anyway.

I don't think I had undrafted the shuttle, because I hadn't undrafted anyone else either. But then I also never draft it to begin with, it seems to just draft itself when I put drafted people in it, and undraft itself when it gets back. So I'm not sure what else might affect that.

As for moving I think the only order I had issued was to right click on the shuttle and select the go into door icon.

I'll see how it goes next time I get the event if I let the crew out again.
