i use unity many years allready and i never need to pay anything.
IMPORTANT:
if you are a normal user, YOU DONT NEED UNITY LICENCE.
only if you want create mods you need it... otherwise leave it untouched.
It doesn't matter if you've been using Unity for years...they just changed their fee policy recently. Obviously, we know using Unity products is free, or whatever the studio/developer charges...I was just curious if any modders have taken a look to see if they'd be affected by their pricing schedule change, since it would basically kill the modding community overnight for every game that's Unity-based. It has nothing to do with players.
I signed up here for the free personal plan, Not sure if that was right but it worked.
New fee policy applies to Unity 6. The game is using 2022.3 so still applies to old fee policy.
Was that part of the update they were talking about doing to adjust the policy? If so, that's better...since originally it included everything retroactively, which had to have been illegal in some sense, like a bait and switch or even anti-trust type of situation. Absolutely wild though in general haha
What unity hub?
