Dual Screen - Windows 10 Fix
If you are attempting to run SupCom and SupComFA; and you desire to play RTS's with 2 screens. Please follow these steps:

Go to your main hard drive where you store your Steam library. Example: (C:)

Go to Program Files, Steam will most likely be located in "Program Files (x86)" because thats the default installation path.

Go to the game's root location: Steam/steamapps/common/Supreme Commander Forged Alliance/bin/

Right click on the "Supreme Commander" or "Supreme Commander Forged Alliance" Application file (.exe).

Go to the Compatibility Tab.

Turn off Compatibility Mode by unchecking the box that says, "Run this program in compatability mode for: ..."

Uncheck the box for "Disable display scaling on high DPI Settings" in the Settings.

Click Apply, then click Ok.

Now here is where you will get educated.

On Windows 10, when you complete a level or complete a skrimish game and return to the main menu of some kind. The game will crash.

To avoid this, enable Compatibility Mode by checking the box that says, "Run this program in compatability mode for: ..."

I normally select Windows 7 or Vista because that is around the time the game was released outside of Steam.

PLEASE NOTE: When enabling compatability mode, it will not allow you to run dual screens.

In addition, when you uncheck "Disable display scaling on high DPI Settings" the first time without Compatability Mode enabled. When you close your game and re-open it, it will enable it again. Do not worry! As long as compatibility mode is disabled, you will be able to enjoy your dual screens.

I hope this fix and walk-through will help you SupCom gamers enjoy the beauty of what Chris Taylor created.

Feel free to share this with your friends and collegues that play this awesome RTS.

I hope I am the first to post this for I figured it out for myself.

There is no sense in not sharing this information when hundreds of other gamers can enjoy the same dual screen experience for free and with ease.

If you continue to have problems or have questions, I will do my best to respond back and help.

The Windows 10 Anniversary update fixed dual monitors for lots of people. I guess the fix will work for the people that still have the problem.

Understood, thank you for your feedback. That may be a result of Windows 10 version that is less than 1500.

RS1 and post-RS1 builds(including already-testing RS2 and later builds)have that fixed as far as i can see my friends, playing FA and Vanilla.
since 14393 (eg RS1) was the lowest build build, available to DL from MS servers - make sense to update windows, anyway.

Yep this should not be an issue, it has not been an issue for months. Should just run dual natively. I thought this update could not be stopped (some are compulsory).

Can't get dual monitor to work. Running without Win7 compatibility not only doesn't allow dual monitors, but the graphics settings are set to super low. Running Win7 compatibiltiy at least allows me to run at 1920x1080 on super-duper high settings.

Gah!

i7-6700k
GTX1080
32GB ram
Win10 Pro.

Any help would be awesome :)

Honestly I have no clue, mine just works as it is, do not need to change anything in compatability at all. AMD 8350, GTX 970, 8gb ram, win10 pro.

A790, are you trying to run dual monitors off your GTX 1080? You may need to enable the second adapter within the game settings under video options. I'd be happy to help troubleshoot the problem with you.

I do it, but dual screen doesn't work.

I have 3 screens, and i found i must desactivate de third screen in the OS screen's parameters... after this is ok.

i take screenshot of windows screen parameters (in french):

Jean le Francois - Are you using a desktop or laptop? Do you have multiple graphics chipsets in your system?

Also, I do not know if SupCom supports more than 2 screens. I will look into that.

1 of my screens was connected with my mainboard and the other was connected with my graphic card so i connected both screens with my graphic card and it worked.

Yep the game does not like more than 2 screens.

Yep seperate gpu's means seperate controllers etc, when you play a game, they generally only talk to 1 gpu, so you need the monitors on the same gpu.

Also quite a thread resurrection.
