Those weapons already have attachments on them.
You can't choose the attachments. Everything is premade
No, they don't.
You can't choose what to put on your gun. It's all premade. If there's a gun with a scope, then you can't change it or take it off. Same with silencers, extended mags and other attachments.
This excuse is garbage. I have heard it before and it made no sense then, and it makes no sense now.
Alright, let's assume we have a very limited supply of scopes, silencers, whatever. Why is it that the character chooses what they use them on? Why can't we instead collect them and keep them in our inventory, and use them when we think they would be most useful? I have no need for a red dot sight on my pistol, but I sure would enjoy it on my AK. Same with silencer.
And yet, the character wastes them on whatever they want to waste them on. The player has no freedom to choose what attachments they want to use.
Eh? FC5, it only took money, and not a lot of it. Like... $1800 or so would get you a suppressor, and on the default difficulty even your basic AR-C and 1911 could be used all the way to the endgame since the other assault rifles and pistols were basically sidegrades with minor tradeoffs for the most part.
IMO, they really dropped the ball there.
They should really have had the Weapons Workbench be good for (a) base guns, and (b) separate attachments.
Elsewhere in this forum, I suggested a system where Tier I weapons could have no additional attachments, Tier II could have 1, Tier III could have 2, and Elite could have 3,
Then, scale the attachments themselves across all three levels of Workbench. For example:
Silencers
Sights & Scopes
... that sort of thing. Then, let us install and uninstall attachments at a workbench, as we see fit (and limited in total number by the Tier of the weapon).
I kinda go like this, silenced pistol and silenced sniper for the stealth until that goes to all hell then its Assault rifle and SMG or another type for those micheal bay moments.
