The UFO CATCHER is VERY frustrating
Why didnt they put a shadow at least so you know where you are in 3d space? the toy machine is extremely frustrating.

Ok sorry, ill edit the title, if they just added a shadow so you know where you are in the space it would make it a lot less frustrating. Thanks!

instead of trying to aim for the middle (center) of the toy, try to stab it with one of the arms. unlike previous games on steam, the physics is wacky af, so doing the reasonable thing (trying to center the arms around a toy) is not what you should be doing. stab it and hope the physics gets weird and sticks to the crane arms. that's going to be your best strategy.

Ok thanks, weird that the physics got worse, if something isnt broken dont try to fix it, they really should put a shadow beneath the thing that you move.

The crane game is actually pretty realistic for the most part in terms of claw strength (barely any). If you've ever played these games IRL, you'll know that unless the item you want is shaped in such a way where the claw can get hooked inside a loop or something or it can cleanly grab onto an edge... you are not going to actually ever grab the item.

The way to get items is always to move the claw so that as it rises it will push the item towards the hole... then gradually keep on pushing until it falls in... naturally this is the intended design of the machines and the operators are pretty much told how to rig things/where to place items for maximum earn.

Generally for the number of tries you'd have to pay for to get a toy you're literally better off just going to the shop to buy the damn thing outright.

yeah but it was better in previous games, in this one you have no idea where you are in that 3d space, it needs a shadow

Note that you can move the camera so that it shifts around in the other direction, this helps with the depth at least.

in real life they programme rng into the microcontroller, other wise people who are good at the machine will just wipe them out, so they have to make it unfair so people can waste coins.

Best and easiest one is in Yakuza 0, Kiwami and Kiwami 2 are very difficult to match. Besides they delete the shadow from the claw in K1 and K2 and that makes UFO CATCHER even harder.

I think Y0 is the hardest one, K1 the easiest. IIRC in Y0 you really have to grab the toy, you can't just push the toy into the hole like in K1 and K2. K1 has bigger holes than K2 to push toys into.

Y0 is the coolest one. I dont think it is hard at all. In Y2 the only way to get the prizes is to push the toys into the hole... not fun at all.

You can look the side of some machines if theyre not located in the middle of others.

Ive not found one of those yet. The machines ive used dont allow you to go around the side, unless I missed something. The games prior to this allowed us to take a side view on every machine and that made it a lot easier.
