Linux support?
Hi, Liam from GamingOnLinux here: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/

Absolutely love space shooters, will you be adding a Linux version to Arc Savior?

Hi Liam,

All going well, a Linux build will be available. However, after Windows, Xbox will be next then Linux.

I'll post updates as I progress!

It's on the To-do list trust me. I'll announce when I have a release date for Linux as soon as I can.

I'm a one person team, so it'll take a small bit of time ;)

Its coming, I don't have an exact time frame yet, but It shouldn't be too far away :)

Another Linux gamer here, bought the game today on sale after a long wishlist.
I too am a fan of space shooters and this one... is really nice!

I was curious about the progress on the Linux version?

Right now, it runs perfectly with Steam Play (Proton). :)

Hi dpanter,

Thanks for picking up Arc Savior. I'm happy to hear that you like it so far.

I have been having some issues with some display artifacting on Linux builds and have been unable to sort them out yet.

I have been testing in Debian so far but nothing else.

I am still working on it and will have it done as soon as I can.

Thank you for being so patient. I'm a solo Dev, so my resources are thin...

Wish me luck and fly safe!

Cool beans.
I'm currently testing another space shooter also made in Unity, by another solo dev. Maybe you guys should hook up? I suspect you might have stumbled upon similar roadblocks. :)

If you need help with testing the Linux build, I'm willing to assist, and I'm certain a couple more fellas over at GamingOnLinux.com feel the same.

Much appreciated dpanter. I have a handful of things left to implement to see if Ive fixed the issues. If I'm still in the same boat, I'll definitely hit you up for some additional testing :)

Hi, about those graphical issues.

Are you using Unity by any chance and testing on NVIDIA?

Hi Ragnar,

Yes, I'm using unity and Nvidia.

Thought so! It's a really common issue, an older bug that was fixed in more recent versions of Unity.

If you're unable to upgrade, you can use this as a launch option which fixes it as a workaround:
-force-glcore42 -force-clamped

I may try your command line fix first.

I'm fairly sure upgrading the unity version will break a lot of my shaders and such.

I'll let you know as soon as I'm back in front of my workstation...

Fair play to you for having that info at the ready 😊

I run https://www.gamingonlinux.com/ so I'm pretty used to advising developers on issues found in supporting us ;)
