Is the seatruck that bad?
So I'm looking to get into BZ but I've heard that the seatruck is pretty awful. Hence, the question in the title. If it is really that bad, I will probably avoid BZ till 1.0.

its kinda slow and you need upgrade modules to get it to go faster and have more HP to tow all the junk modules you gotta hook up for a mobile base. I think it may be too specialized for its own good. Needs better storage like the seamoth had. I would hold off like you say until the release gets done. Even tho they said they were revamping the story line that throws things off. (Plus they seem to be fixated on above ground activities which is very un-subnautica like)

I thought the seatruck was pretty neat until i realized that you cannot stack horsepower modules. If you could stack them, then you could make a long cool seatruck that wasn't crazy slow. But unfortunately that's not the case. I hope they change this in the future.

A really long seatruck in this small and twisted world? Not really a good idea..

Is it really that bad? Nope. It's worse.

Is it bad? Nope. You can make it small and fast or big and clumsy. The choice is yours.

All of the Seatruck's failings are fixed by the Unslow Seatruck mod.

It's just ridiculously slow for what it does.

i was negatively affected by all posts about how ppl would dislike it over the seamoth

honestly the seamoth was great in subnautica base game .. but the sea truck is actually pretty cool

with some speed upgrades you can make it sort of a mobile base and until then u can just leave it small and fast enough

i honestly like it

The seatruck is okay for what it tries to be. It's a modular utility-vehicle.
As long as you have the necessary upgrades and use no more than two docked modules, it is okay in terms of speed, and it does at least have perimeter-defense.

Yes, that's another problem I have with the game is that it's more of a Subnautica: Above Sea Level than Below Zero. Alright I'll probably wait till 1.0 when everything is fine tuned.

I see I see, that's one of my concern as well.

I hope they fix this, thus far I haven't heard one single good thing about it. I really hope they maybe bring back a Cyclops 2.0 with customisation.

I like the seamoth and the sea truck they both have their pros and cons the world is much tighter spaced than regular subnautica so they both would fit great. the truck really lacks without upgrades speed and boost are needed but, in late game It really doesn't feel like enough. I miss my decked out cyclops I felt like captain nemo.
Paradox Jul 20, 2020 @ 5:46pm
Its not horrible, I just don't think it was designed to use all the modules well. Lots of small crevices and places you have to squeeze to get to, that doesn't allow for all the modules to be used. While not a major issue for me, at least with the cyclops you could drag your seamoth around to scout once you got to a general area.

Also, I've never found a use for the snowfox though. Its an underwater game, with a barren arctic surface. Why do I need a ground vehicle?

The sea truck is not that bad. Considering the state of the game, it is actually pretty good. Given the game isn't finished, and they have left off a lot of stuff, the snowfox should have more viable use in the future.
