You don't see it precisely because it's been censored. If you want the details, Spike Chunsoft posted a list of the changes[www.spike-chunsoft.com], no spoiler included.

I dunno why they changed the things with the panties, but the child content for a western release seems reasonable. Just to bad, that there is no uncensored version to import for the people that care.

Virtual characters are reasonable?

You mean the thing every parent and every sibling has already seen? But I guess every parent and every sibling in the world are suffering horribly from the effects of seeing it, and that is why it was removed from the game.

Well, solution is for everyone to never have children. That way we won't be offended by children existing.

Nothing is being consored. Spike Chunsoft just adapted the material to fit the Western market, by their own choice, because they knew that things that can be associated with child pornography or erotica aren't as socially accepted here as they are in Japan. Censorship is when an external power structure, such as a government, commands a work to be changed, not when a company itself decides to change things.

Which was legal according to the ratings from the ESRB,PEGI etc. or was the game all the time censored and they decided to announce this one month before the release date?
Very transparent for a company
Maybe the should learn some things from Marvelous Xseed, IFI, Pqube etc.

Also.....can people please stop with "western culture"....my country is from the west and we never had a problem to see the difference between fiction and reality and have another definition about "pornography"
Something like that has not any sexual context for us
Creepy and weird but not a porn or illegal

If something isn't transparent, that's another matter, but from what I've seen, the changes were made by Spike Chunsoft themselves (or at least their localization team).

As for the pornography thing, well, it's a highly subjective matter and I think SC just wanted to err on the safe side. Regardless, it's just a few shots of a child's panties being removed, no story elements or gameplay were altered. Japan has a much looser view on children and children's bodies than the West. You can argue about that all you want, but it remains a subjective matter.

If a company is non-transparent or not matters in that case, especially if other Devs etc. done that much better

It also matters if a company "change" the content of a game, which was legal in many western countrys (otherwise many anime or manga would be also "changed/banned").
Of course its subjective, but I cant accept "changes" because some western countries have a problem with that
Release the game in different versions in that case like many other devs already done that, which were much smaller than SpikeChunsoft...

Like we agree, it's subjective. I can understand disagreeing with the decision, mind, I'm just not on board with writing negative reviews and starting rant threads online about a very small aspect of a game.
Hiecchi Apr 12, 2019 @ 2:48am
Writing bad reviews is dumb , but if there is no other way to show your opinion of this decision, this is the only way to do it
Also...most people only rant about the censorship, because the discussion about that are most times closed and people, which are okay with the changes, use insults against this people or accuse them for a specific thing
There are also positive reviews where people called for self-harm or that anyone against the censorship should die
So yeah....people want a plattform to show their opinion about the changes, censorship or the decision from the publisher
Stormo Apr 12, 2019 @ 2:52am
Fair enough. I personally think this is a non-issue and not worth wasting time on (then why am I doing it, you ask? Good question!), but if you feel this is something worth going to war over, then that's your decision and I respect that. I just wish it was kept out of the reviews and limited itself to discussing instead of calling for boycotts and other silliness.

For the record, I also disagree with closing threads and accusing people of paedophilia. And I know which positive review you're talking about, I also flagged that one and commented that the review system is meant for reviews and not for lukewarm takes. ;)
Tiasmoon Apr 12, 2019 @ 3:30am
Mentioning censorship or such should be part of reviews atleast. That's what the review system is for after all.

They removed the child versions of the sleep events. So thats more then just some pantyshots. I dont care about the pantyshots myself, tho I do care about the later.

Those are story/gameplay elements.
