Massive FPS drops at Ashina Castle nearly at the end of the game
Try go to the Ashina Castle when it burns down nearly at the end of the game and go to the area near the gate that has a lot of mobs with flamethrowers. You will see your FPS counter hitting 50s. Anyone having the same issue? Need confirmations it's not just me and my Vega 64.

Yes. It seems to be an issue for most people, no matter the system, Lots of powerful and weaker systems experience it both at Ashina Castle.

if you're only getting slight framerate drops, I don't think that's too bad, Iv'e seen a couple streamers who get stalls, and i experience some very heavy stuttering there too.


It's the blighttown-programming :/

Yeah it's just slightly fps drops, just need to confirm that everyone else has this problem. I thought it was my AMD system. As you know previously AMD hardwares don't run really well with Dark Souls 3.

Yes, lots of people have this problem with Ashina Castle area. What CPU do you have?

I got Ryzen 2600X. I'm glad it's not just me.

Actually, I've got an 8th gen i7, and the GTX 1070, and I'm looking for help with the fps drops in that area as well. I've used a mod to unlock my framerate to 100fps (144fps monitor), and even with my settings dropped to bare minimum, I'm still getting drops down to 40-50's, when every other area sits just happily at 90-100.

No issues here. Still have 100FPS (unlocked). Evga RTX 2080T FTW3 and i7 7700k@5GHz.

Had the same issue as well, the instant that ashina is on fire, my game literally went crazy with its fps.

I am currently in NG+2 and not yet in this area again but I see what I can do once I am there. Dont knew how this would help though.

I'm using a i5 9600k at 5ghz, and I get random drops as well at 1440p maxed settings on my 1080ti. There's something going on with the engine.

upgrade your pc, it seems too be weak for this game or lower your settings. You cant drive with a oldtimer over 250ps like a ferrari. Thats just a comperison to your potatomashine.

You need a GPU with more fillrate. You'll have to lower your resolution until you pick one up.

Well i got Ryzen 2600X, Vega 64 undervolted and overclocked, 16GB of RAM. It's not the best but it's decent. In other places i can get 60FPS at 4K, but only at Ashina Castle it drops to 40-50s FPS at 1080P. So it's not my PC alright. It's From Software optimization.
