1. Many achievements only unlock in response to an event (again, when they're not bugged)
2. Save games store your Steam account ID in them, and then on top of that have a checksum.
2's not terribly difficult to get around, but I don't think there are any tools right now to do this for you? You won't be able to load a save game from another user without running the save through a tool that I don't think exists yet.
I just got Shura ending on 2nd playthrough so got Man Without Equal, only 3 achievements left and they are all grind focused now =).
Start a new game. Get Immortal Severance ending but do Purification steps to fight Father Owl. Remember to get all prayer beads + gourd seeds as well as all optional bosses. Get all carp scales + buy lapis lazuli. Kill carp + snake. Upgrade skill tree + all prosthetics as much as possible without grinding TOO hard.
Then go into NG+. Do the Shura ending so you can fight fire Isshin. Farm endgame areas for sen + xp which will be boosted because NG+. Farm as long as you like.
Then go into NG+2 and grind to get enough xp+sen to finish upgrades. Get either Dragon ending or Purification (which you can do on a new save if +2 is too hard - you don't have to do all endings on one save)
Finally, go into +3 and get the other ending, or the NG+ of a new save.
Then after pointless grinding and running through the game 4 times you will have all achievements without scumming! Was it worth it? No.
You can 'save scum' I don't think that's an issue and I don't consider it 'cheating' as long as you legit kill bosses :)
Yes it's a minor time investment but achievements are ment to be achievements and not hand-outs.
Well i pretty much did and collected everything for 3 NGs only to realise i never need it so yea. Probably close to 30-35 if you bolt it after your first game.
