Except it works fine, OP probably just has big picture mode on or something similar. Game has 100% native ps4 support, i'm using my ps4 controller and it works just fine. I've had to do nothing extra.
Pretty much. Many game complaints can be chalked up to user error.
Not just that, i'm pretty confident OP pirated it lol.
Or the OP is like me and has stuff that doesn't use Steam and/or plays offline.
i had the same issue and i use 3rd party drivers because i have Emulators and games outside of launchers (GOG games with Offline Installers, old CD Game). however even after disabling DS4Windows (the Drivers i use) it still didn't work
got it to work by booting Steam up Online, Clicking on Ni no Kuni and clicking the Gear Icon in the bottom right of the header banner of the game
from there i went to Manage > Controller Configurations and there's an option to load the Official Configuration for Title (by LEVEL-5) by clicking on Browse Config at the bottom > Recommended > Official Configuration for Title > Apply Configuration. after disconnecting from the internet the game picked up my PS4 Controller
Before going online the Controller Configurations dialog would endlessly load. i am not sure if this is because the UI needs to download and cache the UI for Steam or for just the game or if there is something else it needed to download as now in offline mode the UI works but have not needed to use Steam to manage my PS4 Controller beyond Ni no Kuni and for the most part not even needed since DS4Windows works on mostly everything (Ni no Kuni was the first)
How does that work? Where do I go and paste it?
If the Steam client is not correctly handling input, using a client emulator is an option. Goldberg properly handles Steam Input.
