currently the only way to rerail the cars is by reloading the savegame.
In the future i will add a extra heavy duty steam crane which can lift cars, engines and other logging equipment.
I agree multiplayer would be very cool and is definitely on the list. Currently i am focussing on adding more content for the player and to give a long term motivation. Once that is done it can be expanded with new features like multiplayer.

An idea I had was wooden rerailing chocks, the locos already wood burning so decently solid bits of wood are easy to come by
Most derailments ive encountered is pointwork derailments with only the leading bogey derailing on the loco or wagon
Maybe some basic rerailing equiptment like a jack, rerailing ramp, chocks could be put on a purpose built flatcar that people have a choice of adding to the train
People may need to understand though you cant rerail everything with it and its down to situation
