What's the point of the rune that makes glory kills faster?
You have I-frames through all the glory kills, right? I used the seconds in the glory kill tom mentally regroup and pick my next target. I don't see that rune as anytrhing but a huge disadvantage, unless you're speedrunning.

On that note, in what situations would I use the Unmakyr instead of the BFG, except maybe Icon of Sin? You can eat through an entire BFG ammo (30 Unmakyr shots) and barely stagger a cyber-mancubus or Archeville

Speedruns, and it looks more badass. For example, Clockner uses mastered Savagery in his latest Doom 2016 video, and it gives you the feeling of constant fast-pacing. Otherwise, for average / casual gamers, it does more harm than use in this instalment.

Getting more health faster and not letting the AI get a good position on you. I have a different problem with that rune. That is: CHAINSAW AND BERSERK GLORY KILLS WON'T GET FASTER. That's one of the things 2016's Savagery had going for it and now that functionality of the rune is completely gone.

To be fair, I was always concerned by those fast chainsaw kills. Cutting through a Baron's massive leg shall take time, regardless of runes.

I get you but i will always miss old savagery. Maybe it would make resource management far too easy in Eternal seeing how you have to chainsaw stuff far more often but a little boost in speed could shake up the animations while still not making the resource management a complete joke.

Also why do i keep seeing the same 90% of users in the steam forums? Does anyone actually enjoy visiting this "place" besides me?

The flamewars are entertaining to me, maybe because I'm a sadist.

I can't argue with that. I think that's why i also visit this place so often.

I can't imagine playing with it off.

It decreases the amount of time you spend watching the animations and increases the amount of time actually playing.

There is one place in the game where this rune is quite useful: the fight in ARC Complex where you get the Berserk powerup. I noticed recently that the powerup durations are extended slightly with each kill made under the influence of that powerup, and being able to perform your Glory Kills faster will allow you to get more use out of Berserk.

If you are performing Glory Kills under the influence of other powerups (Onslaught and the not-Haste powerup), I guess it could also be useful there as well.
Savagery doesn't actually affect Berserk kills from what I remember. Additionally, the powerup timer doesn't count down while you're in a glory kill animation.
