Are you sure it's random?

You will get hitching when you approach area transitions, and a little bit of stutter when first loading into an area. I have not encountered any truly random stutter, it has all been very predictable.

I do not have a game-specific mod for this Tales game, but if you want to monitor the game's performance and use a framerate limiter that can smooth out some stutter, there is always Special K.

i guess it could be at set intervals and not random at all but it more then what i would consider the microstutter ive been reading about when it comes to stage transition, im losing whole movement control, but ill check out the program

I've had pretty serious stutter (at least on some of the Cyslodia and Menancia maps) until I ticked the "Disable fullscreen optimizations" box in the ..\Tales of Arise\Arise\Binaries\Win64\Tales of Arise.exe properties (Compatibility tab).

~Butter smooth since then.

That's unusual unless you have a display scaling problem.

FSO turns Fullscreen Exclusive into Borderless Windowed mode using Independent Flip.

You can also do the same thing with SK:

Unless you are getting Composed Flip for some reason in fullscreen mode, then turning FSO off doesn't do anything.

I know what that option does and that it doesn't really make sense (I've read pretty much everything you ever wrote on exclusive fullscreen and flip discard, etc).

All I can say is I get serious stutter in certain places with optimized fullscreen and not with exclusive fullscreen.

Just tested it again real quick (mostly to confirm to myself that I'm not making this up entirely).

It would be nice to know what the PresentMon line of SK's framepacing widget says in your case.

If you are getting Composed Flip rather than Independent Flip, it's indicative of a bigger problem that is going to affect all of your games. Generally the things that would break FSO are another overlay (e.g. Xbox Game Bar) on top of the game, or display scaling issues.

( Should clarify, with FSO turned back on. It's going to read "Legacy Flip" while FSO is disabled )

just dont listen man

its standart bingo - you got your console pc / and its bad

the truth is one here

game have issue technical one for some people - game freeze - music keep playing and you cant alt tab

i already give people a short guide what can cause this issue

now about stuttering- its unreal engine

you got tales of arise and most of the settings are hidden, same goes with trials of mana

but as you can see game load almost everything like before your eyes - textures then you change weapon / npc shows up from nowhere / textures of the grass - etc

its engine problem dont mention it

people here will obviously say - we got no stutters at all

i got same topic in pathfinder kingmaker - you got a big map in crpg game - and if you scroll down or just follow your team - you will see little stutters and it was the part of the engine

doesnt matter what pc you have - modern pc or old laptop its just part of the engine

believe me

you can install shadow of mordor and you will see = zero stutters, and its open world game btw

what you can do - its enable game mode - disable ANY OVERLAYS like steam for example

drivers etc not helping anyway

so i presume you talking about "little" stutters in some

Hardware Composed: Independent Flip
Hardware: Independent Flip (after switching to 10 bpc/disabling MPO)

Didn't make a difference either way.

Also, maybe should have mentioned: Windows 11 (22000.194)

Weird :-\

At least you have a solution for your problem, even if I can't wrap my head around it :)

any stutters its ram and cpu

you need aida 64 free version or cracked one

check ram test and cache

if your latency is like 74 ns

its bad value for modern games

so its or ram without xmp you runing of or cpu is overheating

but if you talking about real stutters not the small one what i already mention

if you run game at 1080p its consume and cpu and gpu and cpu depend on ram speed also

then you got big locations what constantly need more and more data to process

..and yeah if you run ram test from aida - close any application games browser etc

even steam and so on

just to make clear what your ram is not suppose to do some other staff above its already run the os windows
