Damage skill calculation
I see that some skills don t work properly.
here is the dmg i dealt with the skills:

6800 Normal hit

12700 Eternity Rising (450% Dmg)

4700 (Dash III 150% Dmg)

2400 (Struggle each hit)

3800 (Storm Cut I - III without being hit by wind)

What is your ATK and the Monsters ATK you tried those skills?
There is a damage formular on the WIKI:
(your ATK *4 - enemy ATK *2)* skill modifier ( = 1,5 for Dash III)

There is even a possibility for critical hits but Floppy didn't mention it in the WIKI.

My ATK 916

Monster ATK 306
Monster DEF 220

i m sure you meant ATK *4 - enemy DEF *2 there.


my normal hit dmg should be around 3224 then.
i m using the sword eternal courage. it says it "gains power with every blow" i head it gives +1 atk per enemy killed or so.
maybe the extra dmg applies to normal hits but does not go into the skilldmg calculation.

You're right. My mistake.

The NPC at the sword sellers in Heyama tells you exactly how strong those two swords are. (5 hits = +1 ATK or for Enda HP-Absorb)

Perhaps that normal hit was a critical one.

@Floppy: Please look again into the additional damage of Eternal Curage
For Xero the damage would be:
(4*(Xero's ATK + Eternal Courage Bonus) - 2*(Monsters DEF))*m
or (4*(Xero's ATK) + Eternal Courage Bonus - 2*(Monsters DEF))*m
or old formula + Eternal Courage Bonus

I don't know how you calculate this.

well as far as i know: the critical hits are displayed in colors. - it were white hits only. it was not only one hit i "recorded" it were several. all around 6800 dmg ,white hit, normal attack

You found a bug! I'll get to that in a second...

The Eternal Courage bonus is only added for normal attacks. Skills will still stick to the (pAtk*4 - eDef * 2) formula.
There are two other main factors that affect damage which aren't listed in game. Those are:
1. Variance: Every move can vary in damage by some percentage
2. PDR (Physical damage rate) for monsters: Specific monsters have flat reductions to physical damage

From the stats you gave it looks like you're fighting Warden. He doesn't have any PDR so we can ignore that.
Eternity Rising has a pretty big variance of 20% which means using your values it can deal between:
(916*4 - 220*2) * 4.5 * random(0.8, 1.2) = between 11600 and 17400

Each hit of struggle is only 75% damage, which I couldn't include in the description because I ran out of space.
Storm Cut 1, 2, and 3 all deal 125% damage without the Wind Hit beforehand.

A normal attack with Eternal Courage deals 1 extra damage for every 2 attacks that have been done. I just added that to the Wikia. But there's a bug which is doubling Xero's damage for normal attacks with the sword! He should be doing 3400 in your case. I think this bug will also affect the Gasuto No Jinsei and Bass weapons.

Does the counter for Eternal Courage and Gasuto no Jinsei increase even if the normal attack misses?

and does it increase when you counter an attack?

It increases any time the normal attack damage calculation is triggered. So yes for counter attacks, no for misses.
I didn't put a lot of time testing the grind of the Eternal Courage counter, so you guys should let me know if you think it's building up too slow. Maybe 1 damage per attack instead of 1 for every two attacks is more reasonable.

No, the extra added damage is just a flat increase after the normal attack is calculated.

Doubled rate at which Eternal Courage gains power. It is now 1 attack to add 1 damage.
At least it's way easier to grind the counter now ^_^
Maybe somebody will setup a macro and get a sword that does 99,999. And then add an Onyx Pin for 100% counter at max damage.
