Souls-Like Tetris as it´s best!

Well not so hard but extremly fun.
Short and addicting like hell with easy achievements.

"Boom Box Blue is a frenzied skill based physics game. This is what you get if you merge Tetris with physics and throw some bombs into the mix!"
Well, slow down guys.
The truth is that this game features 35 achievement that require basically grinding, and they can be completed within an hour - in fact, the hardest achievement requires us to reach the maximum level, and by doing this we'll take the other ones too.
So, what's it all about?
The game itself has a very basic tutorial, hovering upon the ? mark - we must collect stars, avoid red blocks, eat toasts to get bonuses, pick up bombs and drop them with the left mouse button.
This is all.
Going a little deeper, we'll command a small blue square and we'll be able to drag him through the screen by using our mouse. He won't do anything apart from collecting the things I wrote above about. Red blocks will be constantly falling from the sky, and we'll have some lives available shown on the upper left part of the screen - eating toasts will simply add lives, and they'll get subtracted when we get hit by the enemy blocks.
More specifically, toasts make us bigger and ice-creams make us smaller..
And while there's a single level for the whole game, we can afford upgrades based on how many stars we collected - we'll be able to increase our health, carry more bombs and a few other things.
So, why a mixed-negative review?
Well, the game is too fast. It starts fast and you hardly can get everything that happens on-screen: tons of blocks stacking on the ground, tons of things to collect falling from the sky and so on.
Plus, the Tetris claim is inaccurate. Here we have only squarish blocks stacking on the ground, and if there's a windy section of the game they will stack on the right part of the screen.. nothing to do with Tetris.
Overall, I found the game quite boring. It offers little new things - just avoid the enemies, drop bombs on them and collect stars. It's a mixed review since it's somehow nicely designed, it's not an asset flip, but in my opinion it fails to get the player glued to the screen (I think I'm wrongly translating some Italian expression).
I mean - the whole thing is not bad, but it's boring. You'll see just more blocks, falling faster.. but the whole concept stays the same for the entire game. Leveling up to level 30, the last achievement in the game, simply means collecting enough stars in the same level in order to fill the bar and get to level 30..
It's not a totally bad game, but not a good one either. I wouldn't recommend it - it's not a complete waste of time, but it's something you find on a free Flash website and randomly play for 5 minutes before getting bored.
Tetris and physics have little to do with this indie game, even because physics simply means that the blocks will stack on the ground or just on the right side of the screen..
Did I mention it has no pause button?

This dodge and collect-items game is so cool and appealing in gameplay. I like everthing about it. The soundtrack, the progressively leveling while collecting falling stars, different kind of enemies which you have to bomb away, unforseen special modes like winds that bursts too high grown towers of blocks or darkness that let you only survive in a small light cone. There are powerups. This time mushrooms make you smaller while hamburgers enlarge your box. (I would suggest to being smaller to survive longer) You even can vomit out the burgers if you don't want to grow too big. You'll reach all achievement requirements after about 1 hour. Depends if you invest more into stars falling from the sky (faster leveling) or more bombs, bigger explosions or lives (higher scores).

I got this from bundle but it's the masterpiece because there are some philosophy in this game.
Boom Box Blue makes you think that booming the box is the main object
but as you try to do the achivement, you realize the main goal of this game is avoiding the box to collect stars since that is the hardest achievement of this game.
I was very impressed by the creator's intent to cover up the main goal of this game by naming this "Boom Box" blue
..or mabye im just overexaggerating snob or something

게임의 목표는 결국 박스를 터트리는 것이 아니라 박스를 피해 별을 모아서 레벨을 올리는것이 진정한 게임의 목표라는것을 깨닫게 된다.
도과를 하다보면 "붐 박스"라는 이름에서 숨겨진 제작자의 의도가 보여져 감탄하게 되는 게임. 철학이 담겨있다.
..아니면 아마도 내가 걍 과장해석 하고 있는거겠지만 추천.

This game took me about an hour or an hour and a half to beat. I got this game as part of a bundle for a plethora of other games so to be honest, I do not know the pricing. But, I will say the game was easy to beat, this would have been a fun game when I was younger on my old iPod for sure. This game did not entertain even my little brother. But, if you were looking for some easy achievments and another game in your steam library then this is the one for you.

Simple game, one hour of ok gameplay - which consists of getting stars and power ups and avoiding and destroying enemies in the process, which is very easy to do, as in all the other games from the same developers - to max out your character and get all achievements. Although is cheap, it does have zero replay value after that. Get it in a bundle and in sale. 6/10.

Although it has a generic name, Boom Box Blue! provides a nice casual game that is appropriate for all ages and to all audiences. This includes both hardcore gamers and casual gamers alike! Unlike Tap Tap Heroes, this game won't hurt your hand and you won't have any need to have an autoclicker on hand.

Boom Box Blue! is easy to play and easy to master as all achievements can be earned within an hour's worth of gameplay. All it requires is a mouse and a good pair of eyes! Simply use your blue box to avoid and blow up other blocks....nothing to it but to do it!

Granted, you won't live for TOO long. Though if you pick up stars, then you can level up, giving you star points to spend on leveling up some stats for better survival or faster levelups. This allows a nice and steady pace of growth allowing you to feel better about your new earned survival, regardless if your skill increases or not.

If you're looking for an easy game to complete or a pleasant casual experience, then Boom Box Blue! is the game for you! For the asking price of $1, it feels well-worth the purchase. Perfect for achievement hunters, stressed-out adults, children, and more. Don't wait. BUY NOW!!!

Fun little iso game making its way to the PC. Just wish they put more into the graphics and options for this game. over all not bad, not sure how often this one will get played!

Another cute game from VaragtP.. Easy enough and cute achievements - all obtained in about an hour and a half of getting through levels! Super casual game but I had a lot of fun.. Some stressful moments as time goes by - the way I describe it - Tetris on steroids but drunk.. It was fun.. It was enjoyable.. For the price tag it was worth it.. VaragtP once again releases a game that is different to all the others he's released - love it :)
