Bought Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition Digital Deluxe when it was released. Now I have to complete my collection?
WTF????
When this thing was released I paid extra money to get everything, to have the complete deal.

Now I enter the store page and it tells me to buy the digital deluxe version, to complete my colection...
I ALREADY BOUGHT THE DIGITAL DELUXE!!!!!

WTF Beamdog???

EDIT: Here's proof of purchase! It clearly states digital deluxe!

According to the NWN:EE FAQ, which is the ultimate source of any official information about NWN:EE, all of the release day content is available in a single bundle on Beamdog.com and Steam as Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition Digital Deluxe.

https://www.beamdog.com/nwn_faq#05

So it has never been described that the Digital Deluxe is a season pass. It has never been stated that players who own the Digital Deluxe would get future premium modules for free.

From the same FAQ, it's obvious the release day content includes the following:
The original Neverwinter Nights campaign
Two expansion packs: Shadows of Undrentide and Hordes of the Underdark
Three premium modules: Kingmaker, ShadowGuard, and Witch’s Wake
Additional items such as Premium Modules Pirates of the Sword Coast, Infinite Dungeons and Wyvern Crown of Cormyr; Soundtracks such as Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition Official Soundtrack and Premium Adventures Official Soundtrack; Additional DLC - The Heroes of Neverwinter Portrait Pack

The Digital Deluxe is a bundle, not a season pass. It's also a bundle on Steam.

A bundle means that all the included items together are discounted (if compared to the situation where you buy each item separately).

Now, Darkness Over Daggerford is included into the Steam bundle. It means that if you have everything else from the bundle, or if you buy everything today, you'll get DoD with a discount.

Steam sells each DLC individually and also has a bundle with all the NWN:EE DLC for a discount. With Steam's bundle, if you already owned all the previous "Digital Deluxe" components (i.e., everything but DoD), you wouldn't get DoD for free, but you could "complete the bundle" and get the bundle discount on DoD (but you'd have to buy DoD AND the soundtrack for that).

You bought the old deluxe, now there is a new module added -> you have to pay more..
you got all you got for, the new stuff wont be in it.. else they would make no money when they have like 10++ new premium modules later on.

yeah... Thats normal for digital deluxes and season passes...
New stuff if "free" for buyers of those. Since we paid for it.

FACT: I was told I would get all DLC.
FACT: I did not.
FACT: I bought the deluxe edition.
FACT: It says in the store page I didn't.

It is NOT ok to release DLC outside of season passes or deluxe editions, those exist for people that want the complete game.
It's SPECIALLY not ok to release new DLC INSIDE deluxe editions and season passes and remove that from previous buyers.
There is not a deluxe edition 1.0 and deluxe edition 2.0 in the store is there???
There is not a season pass 1 and season pass 2 in the store, is there???
There's not a DLC pack 1 and DLC pack 2, is there???
I paid for the deluxe edition. I should get what is inside the deluxe edition.

The "Deluxe Edition" is nothing more than a bundle with a slight discount compared to buying every item seperatly. You got everything you paid for, since it clearly listed all content when you bought it.
Now they replaced the bundle with a new one, with more content but also with a higher price (if you ignore the sale that ends on June 8th).
Sure, it was not the smartest move to replace the bundle with another one of the same name, but never did it say anything about "all future content". If you thought you bought a season pass then you simply were mistaken.

Edit: I don't feel this way anymore now that I understand the mod went through huge updates to justify the $10 price.

I'm not surprised. I bought digital deluxe expecting there would be future modules not included. What I was surprised about is the sale calling this module part of digital deluxe, plus a $10 price tag for something that originally existed for free when it was released a long time ago. Granted, it's been improved upon and was intended for sale originally, but I am experiencing some buyers remorse over this. Neverwinter Nights is still so clunky. I'm guessing it'll always be clunky. And $10 modules are just too pricy imo.

I bought the Digital Deluxe edition of the game a week ago and then bought DoD last night. Had I waited a week I may well have got everything cheaper as there is currently a 15% off sale. But I didn't and so I had to pay extra for the newly released module. Hindsight is 20/20 but at the time I wanted all that was available and that is what the Deluxe version offered. Had I done a little more reading I may have seen that DoD was about to hit release. I didn't and the result is paying an extra £6.10 thats on me.
I do however currently have a 'complete' Deluxe edition.
The alternative is waiting 3 years and then buying the Gold/Deluxe/GOTY version that you know contains everything.

I don't know why anyone would think there wouldn't be future premium modules. I admit I didn't expect an update of DoD, or for any new stuff to come out so fast, but certainly I expected new official modules at some point. They've been talking about it as something they want to do down the road pretty much since the EE was announced.

Who the hell is talking about that?

The damn issue is that I bought the deluxe edition and now it appears as If I didn't in the store page.

OF COURSE I didn't expect anything to be added to the deluxe edition, or for that matter, If anything was added to it, I would expect to receive it since I BOUGHT THE DELUXE EDITION!!!!

Let's use an example:
If you go to the store pga in Arma 3 you'll see a couple of DLC packs.
They are numbered.
If you buy the DLC pack 1 but not others, it's natural they'll make stuff for DLC pack 2 (or 3 or wahtever) and you WONT get it.
HOWEVER, you WOULD expect to get anything added to DLC pack 1, wouldn't you?
AND CERTAINLY, you wouldn't expect that if they added something to it, they would change your status from having DLC pack 1, to not having it.
That's shady

Yes but you never bought the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game. You bought a "Bundle" that was called the Digital Deluxe Bundle. That bundle has sense updated to include new stuff.

That's odd...
My image doesn't say bundle...
Hmmm and if you try and buy NOW the deluxe edition, AND READ. You'll see the new DLC should't be included. More and more shadyness from beamdog

Yes your image totally says bundle. Read it again.

And if you go to buy the bundle now it does include the new dlc and new dlc's sound track.

Regardless it was and is a bundle, not however a "digital deluxe" version of the game. There has never been a digital deluxe version of the game available on steam.

Edit:
Listed on the store page when buying any bundle set. Like the one you purchased.
Bundles are a special discount on a set of products. If you already own some of the products contained in the bundle, purchasing the bundle will allow you to "complete the set", paying only for the products you don't already own while still recieving the full bundle discount on each of those products.

Are you blind?

Right inside the red circle you added for emphasis it says:

This bundle contains:

It then lists things. Everything it listed you got.

I know reading is hard and all, but I think you can probably manage it. If you can't you wouldn't enjoy this game anyway, it's pretty text-intensive.

It's just all DLCs bundled up with the game to simplify your purchase on Steam for your own convenience with a bit of price cut. There is nothing on the store page saying you will get all the future DLCs (or anything else not stated by the bundle itself at the time for that matter) by buying it.
analog_relic Jun 3, 2018 @ 11:13pm
Its supposed to be about 25+ hours of gameplay in DoD. For less than $10. I happily paid it and if it as good as it seems to be, I will keep buying future DLC. Who cares if it is not in the old bundle?

I will almost certainly play a lot longer than 25 hours. I will have days of enjoyment for less than $10. Keep up the quality work Beamdog. AR
Sneaky_Koala Jun 3, 2018 @ 11:41pm
I agree with analog_relic, and if you don't want to pay there is still the original at the link provided by themazingness. It still works perfectly well with the EE edition. There is even a helpful note on that page explaining that version will remain free but they spent many months redoing it for the release on steam.

The free version is still there if you want it. Simple as that. The version you bought was everything at that time, it doesn't mean you get every future DLC for free.

There is a ton of stuff I don't like about beamdogs practices, but this isn't one of them
