Half-Life

Which elevator is the AKIRA reference?
TV tropes says the elevator in Unforseen Consequences is based off on it but I've never seen the show nor read the manga so I don't know what one they mean. Is it the glass elevator leading down to the test lab, the spinning elevator to the test chamber's main floor or is it the inclinator with the headcrab ambush?

It's that slow sloping elevator with all the headcrabs sliding down it. As you can see in this picture, they look nearly identical- https://i.ytimg.com/vi/vOaMpHTm_xk/maxresdefault.jpg

Ah I see now, thanks. The one in Lambda Core and the expansions must have been patially based on it too. Granted, inclinator elevators really do exist and not just in the form of stair lifts:

By extension, the "giant meat grinder" in the water below Half Life's "AKIRA inclinator" is most likely the machinery's pulley, similar to how furnicular trams work.
