Dead body despawn timer
It feels kinda bad, this was 90% the reason why I bought the game, I loved the fact that unlike other online fps games, you could set the bodies to stay for a long time.
The only other games that had this were Red Orchestra 2 and Rising Storm 2, through config changes.
But they removed it, now dead bodies disappear in like 20-30 seconds no matter what you set the timer to.
To some of you this is not important, but to me this took a lot from my enjoyment of the game.
They could give us that option back, I don't get why they removed it. People who don't want the bodies/don't care can set it to a low value and people like me can use high values, everyone would be happy.

That's probably the dumbest post I've seen during the years I read through here. Not only that you must be a completely sick dude if you only enjoy games for their level of gore and dead bodies count, also for the fact that the option for the body respawn timer is still there in the settings tab where it always used to be.

If it's somehow currently deactivated from the Dev's then there's very likely a good reason for it. Maybe the feature was causing a lot of issues. So absolutely no reason to make such a drama about it!

I was expecting this reaction but think for a moment.
It was a feature during the time when I was thinking about buying the game (I tried the game during free weekend) and later, after I already bought and played the game for some time, it got removed.
And do you really think that if a person likes gore (by the way I never mentioned gore, but let's go with that idea too) or the fact that they can see permanent, or "longer" changes to the battlefield, like corpses staying for a longer while, they have to be insane in real life?
Killing someone is okay, but wanting to have their dead body be in the game for few more minutes is sick, yes?

agreed, lack of dead bodies in a war scenario ruin immersion. 5 minutes is the maximum setting and i feel this is way short.
The dead bodies are needed for a war game, if I play a War game and see no dead bodies, than I'm broke man, I want some emmersion, and horror.

Like I said nothing has been removed from the game. Body timer can still be set to 5 minutes like always. But please continue your drama folks.

It can be set, but it won't change anything... even if you have it set to 5 minutes bodies disappear after 20 seconds

They changed the system. When you set it to 5 min, the body stay only this time when they are in your view. They instant disappear, when they are out your view. You can thanks to the whiners about bad fps with there 10 years old hardware.

That's so stupid... I mean, people who want more fps could obviously set it to a low value. And that's how it should be by default, but give us, people who want it, an option to increase it

The dead bodies would tell you there;s a potential ambush or enemies there. Now you wont know :/

Exactly, you could tell where players got killed in the last few minutes and be more aware in that location

Every single common sense post like yours, has some absolute r*(tard like Emme. Sometimes i don't even think they're real people

Bodies are useful to identify kill zones - so when i see a pile of bodies near a corner or over a hedge I know its a probably a bad idea to go that way...
So the bodies do provide practical indicators/warnings..

100% ! it's the biggest warning sign ever.
Never mind that it adds tons to the immersion. True story: the reason i bought and installed this game is because i was playing the beta the first time and was like, meh, it's ok i guess. Then a shell struck where my squad was, the guy in front of me was completely blasted , so were a few others, the rest were just dead, with bodies everywhere. That's when i had a "wow" moment and actually felt like i "survived" something BIG. Imagine not having all that, that moment would've never occurred. And i know this is about disappearing timers but just saying, it's all for immersion. Same people that piss on disappearing timers are the ones saying they don't mind no blood/gore in inherently gory games, like those of ww2.

I completely get you. The last game that did this for me before HLL was Red Orchestra 2 and that was a long while ago. So when HLL managed to make me feel like that again in a videogame, I instantly fell in love.
Also, you could make the bodies stay longer in RO2 if you edited an .ini config file, so I was happy that in HLL you could do this in-game with settings... and for some reason the setting is still there, it just doesn't work (and it's already been more than a year)

The bodies stay on the ground for the time you set in the menu as long as they're in your visible range. Bodies which aren't seen for that time disappear. It's a simple matter of performance. Thousands of ragdolls on the ground would impact the performance of your computer, as well as the server. Your request would be reasonable if they added a max amount of ragdolls. Let's say like Mount & Blade does it, cap it at around 200 at a time.
