Maintenance Mode?

Say what you want but I kind of enjoyed this game. Why shut the servers down completely? Why not just let us play on a maintenance mode server. They don't need to put anything into it other than keeping the lights on. Is there any hope?

The cost of running the server for the few hundred people who would still want to play is simply not feasible given that they wouldn't be generating any income for it. In marketing-speak that's called a loss. Not to mention, on top of server costs, they'd have to pay employees to maintain it. So they'd be paying valuable employees (which could be working on another project which may actually make money for them) to maintain a product which generates no income.

That is not to say that I don't sympathize with you, I too enjoyed the game. It's just the reality of failed projects.

But hey, at least Bless unleashed seems to be doing pretty well on Xbox.

The cost of running a server is actually pretty minimal with little loss. With a very good server, a cash shop and a few 100 players, its very maintainable and very profitable.

It costs 3x as much to pay worker wages.

And now with malware, so that all your data belongs to them. If you come from countries such as The Netherlands, then you even can't play, as Neowiz block those countries.
It won't be beginning though. Third cbt is coming in May, so full release will probably be around Q2 or Q3 this year.
Neowiz is even worser then Electronic Arts and that says something.
