Yes, it has an alto path for quests, and you can set markers too. At least on the JP server, it was this way, we will need to wait to be sure.
The game world is fcking huge. You can take around 10 mins to reach one end to another end of a region if you are on foot.
So be Happy, right click on the map to set a path and then just press the V key :)
But seriously, fast travel via teleport/mount seems like a decent model (since 19XX) for getting from A to B in a decent time and afk. Just dont get yourself killed at the ending point cause you are afk for too long :P Yes I am looking at you, undead rogue!
