Completely Random STEAM refunds? Are you F - ing kidding me???

So my wife and I both got the game on the 28th. She bought the 150$ version and I got the 60$ one.

I logged a total of 4.5 hours (3.5+ hours of this were sitting at the load screen or sitting in queues). The little time I did manage to play was a horrible buggy experience. Starting yesterday after the apology was posted and the devs said they would do refunds I have attempted a refund FIVE times. Each attempt gets the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Steam response saying I have played more than 2 hours. I have attempted the refund multiple ways and carefully explained the situation and given links to the dev apology and still keep getting denied by steam.

My wife, again, bought the game the same time as me (the 150$ version) managed to stay in the game longer than me and even left her char afk logged in multiple times. She racked up 45.8 hours playtime. She puts in a refund request an hour ago and 20 mins later gets and email saying she was fully refunded.

Seriously??????

WHAT THE F#@K is wrong with STEAM???

At this point im more pissed at the way steam is handling this refund catastrophe than I am with the game devs. Its like im being singled out and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with by STEAM. This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ridiculous. I am beyond pissed off.

There seems to be a lot of inconsistancy with the refund system. I got the $70 version myself and had 4-5 hours in game and got a refund on my first attempt.

I'd suggest just retrying until it goes through. You may also try copy/paste the dev's own response into your reasoning section where it mentions that they are allowing refunds.

I didn't hear litteraly nobody else complaining about denied refund for this game. You must be in the minority.

Could it be that you have "used" the refund option that steam offers too many times?
Steam says that if they suspect someone is trying to exploit the refund system, they have the authority to deny them future refunds.

I don't know if that's the case, I'm trying to guess.

i have never asked for a refund before this game. All i want is my money back for this POS game. I just now got denied a 5th time. I've put in my 6th refund request.

Does anyone know of a way to chat with a live steam rep or a phone number or any other way i can go about this? This is stupid.

I believe there is a policy where people who buy a lot of games on Steam have a higher "priority" or time limit on refunds.

alpha/beta for a game that is 7 years old? That's already been released in 3 other regions?

Listen, I'm not saying there can't be problems.... but this game went above and beyond those accepatble problems, especially when you consider it's a 7 year old game that already released 3 other times!

Just look at the tutorial. I was stuck for ~30 minutes on my paladin because I was supposed to press K to open my skills page and apply some poison I didn't have to a skill I didn't have... at least according to the tutorial. What was I supposed to do in reality? Equip my second stance! No poison, no nothing, I ACCIDENTALLY proceeded in the game, in the TUTORIAL when I began just randomly pressing buttons! That's JUST the tutorial, the T-U-T-O-R-I-A-L!!! We are basically paying for Google translate.

Additionally, the item dupe exploit, which already destroyed the economy of the other versions of the game... is right back at it! "Don't worry, I'm sure they'll take a hard stance on it!" Whelp, no they won't, just don't do it 10 or more times, because then you'll get a temporary ban... /facepalm

Yes, there are problems, but there are unacceptable problems. Not making it VERY clear that large chunks of the endgame won't be around for 1-2 weeks (especially when people get there after 2 days from launch) is BS. Not fixing an item dupe that destroyed the game before is BS. The game is 7 years old already, it's had 3 practice attempts to launch and fix bugs... and they didn't. 7 years outside of Steam, and we still have an item dupe (and a slap on the wrist for trying to destroy the economy for everyone)... Do you REALLY believe in the devs?

It's not expecting a "miracle" to expect them to fix game destroying bugs that already destroyed their game 3 other times before. It's not expecting a "miracle" to expect that all the content be in a 7 year old game....

Of course they would have to. What steam has in their tos is in most countries simply invalid. But getting that right is expensive and time consuming and valve knows that.

Yup. Had the $70 version. I liked the gameplay, loved the world design (areas all felt unique) and a few other things....

But, are you honestly saying this SEVEN year old game is in Early Access? Because that HAS to be a new record!

My steam account has 4 or 5 times as many purchased games as my wifes account. So that is definitely not the case. It makes absolutely no sense why I continue to be denied.

I have just submitted my 8TH!!!!!! request for a refund.

I have been denied 7 times now with the exact same BOT /Canned Message telling me I am over the 2 hour limit with 4.5 hours.

I am severely Disappointed in STEAM and in the future I will be not be using steam to purchase games if I have the option to do so.

This being the first time I've ever tried to refund a game or contact customer support I am also shocked at how garbage STEAMS customer support is. I am seeing no way to call/chat/email and actual person. this is insane.
