For the regions that have crappy ping (Australia, Asia, etc)

Hey guys!

im from Australia and i understand the daunting thoughts of "if i buy this am i even going to be able to play this? am i going to be able to be at a competitive level?" i know especially from when i bought ESO and was unaware of the "no oce servers" thing and boy....it sucked.

So, if you are unsure on how the game will run with 250+ping i will be streaming the launch on the 28th (29th 3am AEST for us Aussies) and i will be telling you how the game feels from my perspective while playing and if i can really feel the difference or not, you will also be able to see for yourself!

If this is something you would like to see before investing in the game then ill be live abit before launch (maybe half an hour or so, don't wanna sit on stream while im just downloading the thing) then for convinience my stream is linked below! not sure if i will be doing a give away if there is enough interest then i might do a spontaneous one for the base game (29.99) but no promises, this is mainly for you guys to see how it runs and for me to have somone to talk to at 3AM xD

What class do you choose? Because I hear melee class is not compatible with high ping.

i am going to be playing a mage, i always play a mage in most MMO's. However, i will be trying different classes later on in the stream so i can get the other professions. Just depends on how the leveling on my main is going

what server do you choose, NA or EU? Have you already test your ping with this website: http://www.cloudping.info/. I'm for south east asia and my ping is better to play at EU server.

Yes i will be playing the NA server as it better ping for me (267ms) where as EU is 300+ for me

use to play WoW just fine on 240 ping when it first came out, Ive played darkfall on 240 ping realitivly fine and that was a FPD, GW2 wasnt an issue either and it seems to have similiar combat so should be fine tbh.
Steam will usually give u a refund if you play less than 2 hours when u decide if the ping to high aswell

It sure is a worry. Crazy location they placed the servers well knowing Oceanic people will be paying/joining.
Japanese bless version I've been getting around 200ms and the red hitboxes already are difficult not to get afterdamage and rubberbanding was common with the Brief PvP I played.
I played mage in PvP and found a few times rubberbanding back to a spot I avoided as the gap closers got me. During PvP was no way telling my ping within the game but the lag was real and was noticeably effecting gameplay.
I think though this was from the sporadic lag spikes causing a lot of this feeling and from what I've heard about these new Amazon servers is that they'll be a lot smoother...

Also the few combos I had, mostly the reactive spells after one crits, I had to spam the button for it to fire as it felt sluggish at times with lag. Concerned with the new combat system being combo reactive but hopefully not as bad as I first assumed as it's handled mostly with my computer rather than handshaking the gameworld.... Shrug.

At this stage I've been looking over Ping reduction software once again. WTFast did me well for ESO and Blade & Soul. Eyeing off Noping atm with their free trial and looks to be Aussie based.

The only reason why i see this is because of the new combo system and the constant switching between stances and executing combos from these stances.

It is changing dramatically from japan. And i also played WoW when they had no oce servers it wasnt too bad but the combat system was also very different compared to how bless steam will be.

But we can only wait and see when its infront of us and playing!

Yes i was also looking at WTFast as it did great things for me in ESO and Archeage aswell

The main reason I quit Blade and Soul was the lack of Oceanic servers, a heavy PVP game where 1 sec means win or loss is frustrating. Imagine spamming the winning blow, with it coming out 1sec late, missing and you lose :( insta quit.

I was going to take work off tomorrow to play the game, since it comes out at 3am Sydney time.

If I see you on stream ill start spam dancing next to you :)

They shouldve chose chicago as the server location at least. Wouldve knocked about 50ms down when playing from OCE

Hahahaha yeah i didnt last long in BnS wasnt really my game however i will keep an eye out for you in game now! You owe me a dance ;) and yeah i took tomorrow off as its also 3am melbourne launch.




And yes chicago or even california have like 160 ping its so much better haha

Its only region locked for the countries that already have servers i believe (Japan, Korea and Russia)

awesome! ill catch you then mate! i don't think its going to be too big of a deal with the ping but we never know until we try im happy to be the guinea pig xD
