Cure ginger
Hello, I've been married to Ginger so often now and I wonder if you could do it with a little patch that Ginger picks up with good care of the husband (bathing in the hot springs, for example, and good food such as fruit salad and gymnastics the exercise mat that you can buy) becomes healthy again.

I just read the post. Should that be a tip, or does someone really have a big problem.

It's not a tip, they have a big something...

There is a mission for Ginger's condition, I think it triggers some time after the main story is over, if I remember right.

Ginger's condition is incurable (by design) but with the treatment will keep her alive as long as it's regularly applied.

Do note that originally there was no treatment. Ginger was going to die eventually and the player could do nothing about it. They added the treatment after lot of player outcry.

It's interesting concept rarely explored in games and even when it is, the NPC will die doing some noble sacrifice rather than dying naturally to the their condition. Wast majority of story NPC deaths are result of acts of violence though, usually something player then has to avenge afterwards. It might've been better to put the condition on side character and not one of the player's main bribe candidates though it would not have had the same impact then.

What's this now?
People are curious why this bright and fun game has something like this in it?
The answer is simple: Chinese.
The game is made by Chinese, and they love their damn dramas ever-so-much.
And there is hardly anything more dramatic than a pretty snowflake of a girl succumbing to some incurable illness. Really cliche crap honestly, but they love it to pieces.

The developer intended to dedicate the Ginger character to her late aunt who died of cancer. They were quite resolved to not change the mechanics, only then the player needs to add extra effort to keep Ginger alive.

Ugh... it's even bigger drama-fest than i initially thought.
That's like totally what i am looking for in a bright fun little game - more drama, with a bonus of realism sprinkled in. /sarcasm
Well, at least i know now which character to stay the hell away from.
Now before white-knights appear and start to barrage me with their self-righteous bs, i did not intend any offense but i think it's best to leave your RL stuff where it belongs - in RL.
Just sayin'.

Thanks to all of you for your answers, I am glad that others have also thought about the topic here. Unfortunately, you can only collect the desert fruit of the cactus to give it to D. Lee. There are apparently no other options. But I hope that the developers will bring out a patch or a DLC for me that will at least get well again after the main game Ginger That way the developers would have both their drama and a happy ending :-)
And yes, I would like to spend some money on such a DLC !
