Strange Spoon and Fiend Fire

I just tried a run with strange spoon bought at merchant on start, found it was funny to try to play it with havoc (exhaust top deck card and play it), and Anger (0 cost attack, duplicates in discards)

Then I got Fiend Fire (exhaust all your hand, deal 7 damage for each card) and wanted to try it out with the spoon.

The experience is a deception. Either the spoon saves ALL the cards or NO card, instead of each card being treated separately.

Turned out I was finally crushed by Exaghost in Ascension. :=)

Is that working as intended?

Sounds to me like a 'bug', I guess like previous bugs, like with double tap/burst. It uses the first card to go off.

From reading strange spoon's description it seems to be working as intended. Strange Spoon only procs on cards that exhaust when played and not cards that exhaust other cards as an effect.

That line made me assume that sometimes it did and sometimes it did not, which led me to believe the first card targeted by fiend fire was the decider for what happens to your entire hand.

Quick question relating to spoon as I've never really used it. If it saves a card, does the "exhaust" trigger still go off? So if I have charons ashes or the branch, will they still apply? Or is the card just discarded right off instead?

If I recall correctly, effects take place according to what the card ends up doing. Charons/branch will only proc if spoon decides not the save the card.
