The difference between Bludgeon and Sunder is the character and rarity. For me, Bludgeon is only used when you can't/don't use Heavy Blade or Perfect Strike. While it has better damage, it doesn't combo greatly unless you have too much energy. Also the first character, to me, is considered an easier character. It is made to just attack and block. Where as the third is more focused on using orbs and skills. Plus in the end you should be seeing Sunder more often than Bludgeon.
Sunder: (2) Deal 20 damage. If kills enemy grants 2 energy.
Sunder+: (2) Deal 26 damage. If kills enemy grants 2 energy.
Or...
Sunder: (3) Deal 28(30?) damage. If kills enemy grants 3 energy.
Sunder+: (3) Deal 38(40?) damage. If kills enemy grants 3 energy.
If you wanted to make it either of those it would probably have to be bumped to rare rarity.
Upgraded it's still decent damage when you just need to punch them in the face real hard, and only a single draw otherwise. I also like that I can repeatedly blow up the Collector's cronies with it, so I'd hate to see it exhaust.
Defect literally has a 5 Energy card with no built-in reduce mechanism. Meteor Strike and Sunder are cards you want to build around.
