Opinions about Sunder
*Any thing in " ( ) " is considered for the upgraded version.

Sunder is currently: Cost = 3, Attack, Uncommon, Effect = Deal 24(32) damage. If this kills the enemy, gain 3 energy.

To me while this card is good for when you want to finish an enemy, it is the only card that stays at costing 3 even after upgrades and effects. This can be considered overly expensive later in the game. My thought is to make is more like feed. Make the cost become 1 or 2, lower the damage by 6, reduce the energy gain to 2(3), plus add Exhaust. So it would look like:

Cost = 2, Attack, Uncommon, Effect = Deal 18(26) damage. If this kills the enemy, gain 2(3) energy. Exaust.

vs.

Cost = 3, Attack, Uncommon, Effect = Deal 24(32) damage. If this kills the enemy, gain 3 energy.

That being said, just my thoughts and would like to know what other people think.

The difference between Bludgeon and Sunder is the character and rarity. For me, Bludgeon is only used when you can't/don't use Heavy Blade or Perfect Strike. While it has better damage, it doesn't combo greatly unless you have too much energy. Also the first character, to me, is considered an easier character. It is made to just attack and block. Where as the third is more focused on using orbs and skills. Plus in the end you should be seeing Sunder more often than Bludgeon.

I think that sunder should cost 2, but only give you 2 energy back. That way it's easier to play, but still retains the usefulness. Either that or boost the damage to make kills more reliable. So:

Sunder: (2) Deal 20 damage. If kills enemy grants 2 energy.
Sunder+: (2) Deal 26 damage. If kills enemy grants 2 energy.

Or...

Sunder: (3) Deal 28(30?) damage. If kills enemy grants 3 energy.
Sunder+: (3) Deal 38(40?) damage. If kills enemy grants 3 energy.

Which is exactly my point. Sunder as a cost 3 that REFUNDS when it kills is an uncommon that still does 75% of the damage of a rare with the same cost and no refund. Even with the class differences, sunder stacks up very well for what the defect needs it for.

If you wanted to make it either of those it would probably have to be bumped to rare rarity.

Would appreciate it if it were exhaust. Dead card against bosses without minions. Great until then but can't always find a copy of recycle.

Upgraded it's still decent damage when you just need to punch them in the face real hard, and only a single draw otherwise. I also like that I can repeatedly blow up the Collector's cronies with it, so I'd hate to see it exhaust.

I think it's perfectly fine as a 3 cost. I've had plenty of situations where I've even gotten free energy off it. Necronomican is one situation, the power to replay your first card is another. Hell, mummified hand, madness, etc. Lots of stuff to make it 0 cost and then if it kills something, that's free +3 energy instead of breaking even.
I have listened to everyone's opinions and have been playing lately. It isn't as bad as I originally assumed it was. Right now after playing and using Sunder more often, I can say that the card is fine. Since I personally don't like using Cost 3 cards, I would like it cost 2 with less damage but just my preference.

Defect literally has a 5 Energy card with no built-in reduce mechanism. Meteor Strike and Sunder are cards you want to build around.
