You can already smoke bomb them normally can't you? That would change nothing. What some of us suggested instead is that it gives you the rewards of the fight you escape with Bark.
Hm, my bad, i'm gonna assume it's the debuff then. I'm willing to bet you can at least smoke bomb the fight if only one of them is left.
"Escape from a non-boss combat. Receive all rewards."
This way, the benefit would be relevant to non-heart runs and help throughout the run, rather than be a crutch for that one Sword and Shield encounter.
Edit: I can't read other people's posts. I'm dumb.
I suppose you only use your Smoke Bomb if you're actually in dire straits which can be run winning by itself. I see no reason to give away free rewards for a potion that occasionally save lives.
Just throw it away if you don't need it.
That wouldn't complicate it. At the contrary, many people expect every potions to have an enhanced effect. Not to mention it's a boss relic, not the Boot.
Why not make the relic more fun and consistent? I don't think most would mind more interesting interactions with potions.
Double effect is double effect is double effect.
Even when doubled, the effect of Smoke Bomb remain unchanged. The potion description is pretty straight forward in relation to its interaction with Sacred Bark: You escape and receive no rewards, and then you escape again and still receive no rewards. You simply repeat the same instance twice.
No need to add exceptions when the game already handle the interaction just fine.
