Maw Bank should not trigger at the same shop it was purchased
I just assumed it would not work this way and didn't consider that it goes in to effect immediately once it goes in to your inventory. I bought a Maw Bank, then removed a card and it immediately negated the Relic. It makes some sense that it would, but I don't think triggering that effect at the very same store it was purchased adds any interesting strategy to the game.

I mean really, that's my bad I guess. Like I said, it does make some sense.

I made this mistake once as well. I bought the Maw Bank, but then realized that there was a card I also wanted. I had a suspicion that the wording on the Bank was literal.

It does make sense however Maw Bank might need a confirmation box letting you know: if you buy it (from this store), you can no longer buy any thing without it triggering.

Even from playing so much I still have to stop and think any time I see Maw Bank in a shop.

Edit: Reguarding "I don't think triggering that effect at the very same store it was purchased adds any interesting strategy to the game." It does when you have "The Courier" which keeps relics/cards/potions in stock.

That's not interesting. There is no way for maw bank being disabled after you just bought it to be interesting or rewarding. It'll always just be annoying. If it had "disabled when spending gold in future shops" it would be much better. It might not be a big deal but it's as important as any quality of life improvement.

I can understand where you are coming from but not everything is meant to be "interesting" or "rewarding". When you want to buy Maw Bank from a shop and buy other things, it means that you have to actually stop and think about how to do it. You want a card/potion/relic? Get it before you get Maw Bank. Simple as that. If you aren't willing to THINK about the effect of Maw Bank and buy it before anything else, that isn't a fault of the game but a fault of the player.

You want Maw Bank to be disabled only for future shops because it is annoying if done in the same shop. Not interesting or rewarding. But for me, my question is always, why did you buy Maw Bank first if you knew you had other things you wanted to get? Maw Bank is good when not in a shop and bad when you are. You shouldn't get a free pass on a store just because you were too lazy to buy Maw Bank as the last item instead of the first.

To me, all I really hear from you is how Maw Bank isn't interesting or rewarding with it's current effect. In fact it is annoying to you for it to do what it says it will. To me, all you are saying is how you don't want to think. You just want to be able to get what you want and not think about the positives vs negatives when buying things. Yes, Maw Bank doesn't have any combination that would affect the store. No, I don't think it should be changed just because it isn't interesting or rewarding. It might be annoying the first couple of times before you understand its effect but after understanding the effect, you shouldn't have a problem anymore unless you choose to ignore its effect.

The Maw Bank's effect doesn't really affect me personally as I only made that mistake the first time. However the reason I think it would be nice if it was changed is because there are people who want to play the game in a relaxing and carefree manner. Sure they're obviously not gonna get the optimal build but wasting gold because you weren't paying attention is a little annoying.
The reason I think this change would be nice even though it isn't particularly important is because even if it's not supposed to be interesting or rewarding what does it add to the game? Is it another level of challenge? Is it testing the players attention and ability to calculate? I think that there are two types of players: those that wouldn't be affected like us and those that would have more fun with the game by not needing to worry about such things. I'd like everyone to have fun with this game since I quite like it and if something can be changed to bring more enjoyment to some players while not affecting others I think it should.

Again, I can understand where people come from for changes.

My whole problem is that I don't think anyone should get a "free pass" just because they didn't / don't pay attention to the game they are playing.

I don't know any other game(s) that do, "Oh you didn't pay attention, that is ok. We will let you do what you wanted."

Most games do, "You didn't pay attention? Too bad, that is your fault."
