Beat Act 3 with all characters, got the cutscene of unlocking the glowing gem for ruby, sapphire, emerald. Then did a regular Act 4 attempt, got there but lost.
I have STS on my laptop and my desktop so somewhere I must have had a file sync corruption, because now: all my gem key achievements are locked, I no longer have the option of obtaining a key during a run, I am also no longer able to unlock the gem keys/achievements again (no cutscene after beating act 3 on a character, I have beaten it on ironclad 3 times, the silent twice, have not tried defect yet, will try that now.)
So at the moment, it's not possible for me to unlock Act 4 which is very frustrating. Not sure what to do besides start a new game file.
I really hope devs can help us out. Even an ini edit or something just so I can save this account. It's not much but I've got A12, A12, A11 (IC, S, D) and I put over 150+ hours into this file. I don't really want to ditch it because of a bug.
The final act is unlocked by verifying the game was completed by 3 characters and is marked in a file called
STSPlayer in your preferences folder in the game directory (betaPreferences if on beta branch).
It can be opened with any text editor and if the lines
"THE_SILENT_WIN": "true",
"IRONCLAD_WIN": "true",
"DEFECT_WIN": "true",
are there, the final act should be available.
Keep in mind this file is in JSON format so if the final line has a comma, the file won't load correctly (crash on start).
If you continue to have issues, feel free to contact us at support@megacrit.com
Changing the values in that file seems to have fixed this issue though. But I had to fix it twice for some reason since it seems that the game changed back the file the first time. Maybe I accidentally had one of the json keys duplicated so it tried to fix it or maybe it restored the file from my cloud storage. Not sure.
