Unlocked Heavy Blade using Heavy Blade?

I just finished my first ascension (one victory, zero losses, very first shop ever sold me ice cream), and managed to finish the awakened one off with a vulnerability into a 200 dmg heavy blade hit, half a turn before I would have died.

I then got a bunch of unlock notices, including the silent, and the cards Limit Break, Heavy Blade and something I forget. (stats now shows 3/9 cards unlocked)
How did I get HB and kill the boss with it before unlocking it?

First successful run with the silent got a similar thing. I used a Catalyst+ to triple poison Deca, and I know I passed over a Bane in the shop, but just now it says they've been unlocked and will start to show up in future runs.

Does the shopkeeper not care about locked cards? Getting them on the black market perhaps? :D

I know I read something a couple days ago that there was a problem with tiers unlocking before they were supposed to. Stated something along the lines that it would be fixed with an upcoming patch (I assume release) if I remember right.
