Ye, forgot reaper as reasonable choice, but Sword Boomerang is unnecessary weight for the deck, same as Exhume (I think you meant this one). In the end your deck is just 1-3 turn finisher because you have from 5 to 12 cards total. You just roll Limit Break, find it again with draw, finish with whirlwind/heavy blade. Reaper render not so important when you kill enemies before they do any significant damage, and either regen from starting relic is enough, either you just use other sources of healing. I personally found Feed much more effective in a long run situation if you get it early enough.
I am not here to brag about how good is someone deck or how big brainpower someone have, but if you in for it, tell me how quick you got platinum, and how many tries/hours it took you?
Ugh, or channeling nine plasma in a single turn....
It's extra weird, though, because including StS, this guy has only 2 platinumed games on his account. Like, what? Why be so into getting a plat quickly when he's not doing it for any other games, and why choose THIS game to do that with? It's way overpriced for a game you're intended to speed-plat and then probably never touch again, and it's more of a game that you actually play around with than a game you complete. Like, do you know how many porn games there are on Steam right now that he could get instead, which have thousands of achievements, are easy and quick to plat, cost well under 1/5 the price, AND give you porn for the money you spend in addition to all that? Because I don't, but I know it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, both literally and metaphorically. And that number only goes up when you include non-porn games. He could have done the same thing several times over and spent less time and money. So why pick Slay the Spire? Why choose the most ill-suited possible game for that sort of thing, where doing it is still feasible? And why nitpick about the devs not specifically catering to this?
I was also thinking about his most powerful cards Corruption, Shockwave, Feel no Pain, Impervious etc..
Sword Boomerang+ ist just a better version of Heavy Blade+ as it deals Strength times 4 damage instead of Strength times 2.5 per energy.
Even with Double tap (terrible card btw.) it's still 4 vs 3.3 per energy.
Reaper is the best way to recover from bad fights for a strength deck. You can face tank as much as you want, as long as it wont kill you, you'll be at full HP at the end of the fight.
I feel like the worst.
Yeah, only reason I haven't gotten the plat already is because there's a couple achievements I just don't feel like doing yet. Well, I suppose it's also because I don't play for achievements.
The opposite would be, you one trick ponied your way to A20, now all characters are at A20, you don't know how to play them, not only at A20 but say even A10, now you go and write a thread how the game is poorly balanced, this character is weak, that card is weak, how do people play this game.
So you mean the average day to day discussion on the board whenever another Luck Based Game thread pops up lol. Completely agree with you there though, the characters are different enough that i personally feel it somewhat justifies the ascensions being split. If you do have enough of an understanding to play all the characters, the game isn't RNG reliant enough to where you'll be stuck due to no fault of your own and can catch up on early ascensions on other characters pretty quickly and get to where the appropriate challenge level for that character is (for example even though I'm freaking AWFUL on Defect, basically chain ran my way to A7 where I'm starting to have some struggles again).
Yea, ahaha the typicaly daily thread. I think the progression in Slay the Spire is justified. I beat A20 Heart with Silent a few times. I am at A18 on watcher, A19 on Ironclad and at A8 on Defect. I am god awful at him, and I feel it is completely fair, that I can't jump to higher ascension with him until I earn it through having a better understanding of the character's strengths, weaknesses and synergies.
But ofcourse, I understand that it can feel frustrating, but it is justified in terms of SLS design.
