Slay the Spire
Can't get achievements: I got Sapphire+ but not "win the game with defect"
I unlocked two achievements recently, "Sapphire+" for defeating the Heart as Defect and "Emerald+" for defeating the Heart as the Silent.. yet I still don't have the basic achievements for "finishing the game" as ANY of the four characters, even though I have ascension unlocked on all of them. I played with mods a few times, but I'm not playing with mods now, which is how I got the two achievements for defeating the Heart. any ideas?

Check your in-game achievement list. If you have it there but not in Steam, it's obviously a Steam issue, and there's a good chance it will resolve itself on its own the next time you restart Steam/your computer and then launch STS. Pretty sure all Steam achievements for this game are linked to the in-game achievements, so it should just be a matter of launching the game through Steam so it can see the in-game achievement, but sometimes Stuff Goes Wrong.

If you don't have the achievement in your in-game list, that probably means the run was disqualified for some reason (though it could be something weird like losing write access to the achievement file). You can try to win again, or just go into your STS directory, find the preferences (or betaPreferences folder if you use the beta branch) and edit the STSAchievements file in Notepad (or some other text editor) to give yourself the achievement.

For non native english speaker like me (who is Prolly?):

The use of "prolly" as a shorthand for "probably" is primarily a reflection of informal speech and digital communication. Here are a few reasons why some people might choose to use it:

Efficiency: In casual contexts, especially in texting or social media, people often abbreviate words to save time and effort. "Prolly" is quicker to type than "probably."

Informality: The word "prolly" conveys a relaxed tone, making it suitable for conversations with friends or in casual settings. It can create a sense of familiarity and informality.

Cultural Influence: Language evolves, and slang terms often gain popularity through pop culture, social media, and peer influence. Some people adopt these terms to fit in with certain groups or trends.

Personal Style: For some, using slang or informal language is a part of their personal communication style, reflecting their identity or attitude.

While "prolly" might be acceptable in informal contexts, it can be perceived as unprofessional or indicative of a lack of education in formal writing or professional settings. Many people prefer to use standard language to ensure clarity and maintain credibility, especially in more serious or academic communications.

Prolly is a colloquial term for a parrot. That's why we say "Prolly want a cracker".:steamhappy:

Lol, just kidding. You seem to have figured it out.

Thanks for the in-depth reply! My situation is most probably a bug. If I got "Sapphire+", for example, I should've gotten the regular achievement for winning as the defect as well for that run, and weirdly I didn't, so I don't think it has anything to do with mods or having write access (I mean I DID get sapphire+/emerald+ somehow)

I guess I'll have to give myselg the achievement, thank you!
