why is my game different from the seeded game everytime? what am i doing wrong?

what seed do you use? Do you use the same ascension? did you foget to set the seed after entering the seed?

yeah i tried to use a no ascension seed from a friend but its always different

every seed i ever tried was different from any video or friend where i got it from. i start the game chose the character in question (ironclad for example) hit the seed button down left in the corner enter the seed and still even the options from the whale are instantly different.

Did you unlock everything with your character?
I remeber that someone once complained about an "unwinnable a0" seed and I played it, but some relics were different because I had everything unlocked.

just tested it with 0/5 watcher from both. same seeds different options

Ok I just tried it and it works for me. I also found out that if the seed is too long you'll get a random seed.
After starting the run, in the top right corner of your game you see what seed you are using.
Try something like: RNGSEED123
Make a screenshot (F12) of the map and then abandom the run and do it again.
If it doesn't work post the screenshots here, maybe it'll help.

Ironclad A0, starts with an upgrade card option and if you take the leftmost fight you're offered inflame.

well im to stupid for steam and screenshots but i got to chose from upgrade card/max hp8/ -26hp remove card/ and the usual swap after the leftmost fight i got offered inflame as the left card. so i think its your seed but it never works with any other seed and they look more like 4ULHCG38UYA0H

Ok, so setting the seeds works.
Yes they look different, because a normal seed is generated by using random numbers and capital letters.
Now one problem could be that you switch (by accident) 1 and i or 0 and o when entering the seed by hand.
Another one could be the game version, I don't know if the seeds you want to try are from the current game version.
A third guess might be mods. If the people use mods it might interfere with the seed. Maybe.

Can you post one of them here so I can try it?
If we have the same seed result the problem lies with your friends game.
Edit: and add which character and ascension the seed is for.
