How to get the "beat the game in 20 minutes" achievement?
It's the only one I'm missing. To be fair, it's probably because my entire personality could be summed up as "indecisive."
Is there a character I should pick or one I should avoid? I should go for ? rooms and not elites to be quicker, right?
Avoid going full turtle build and not playing on high ascension is common sense, but any other not-common sense advice for this one?

Pick Ironclad, grab nothing but attacks, don't even bother blocking. Clash is suddenly good here. Take as many ?s as you can, skip elites. Just facetank your way through.

Thank you =)

Pretty much what he said. Will likely take several tries until you both get what you need to win, and play fast enough for it to count.

You don't have to do it with Ironclad. I did it with Defect. The idea is you don't think, don't take unnecessary fights. If you just spam through everything and avoid fights as much as you can, you should be able to do it pretty reliably.

I find going for a simple Whirlwind build the easiest, especially on A0.
Keep your deck small, if you get draw cards pick up some Flex and hope for a Limit Breaker.
But on A0 a decent set of relics can also carry you as much as the right rare card.

Why is no one mentioning the Watcher who can casually murder everything with strikes?

Also it hasn't been mentioned yet oddly, turn fast mode on in the options. It significantly speeds up the in game animations. Shaves off probably a good few minutes when accounted for across a run.

Because the Watcher requires math, which requires thought. Assuming they haven't memorized enemy patterns, the thought part takes awhile.

TBH I forgot that it was even an option. I've just always had it on lol

I always have it on too lol, but the difference it made with the achievement and how funny it is to see everything kinda just happening super fast is why it kinda sticks out in my mind.

Lol well in terms of the animations themselves lol. In terms of actually playing the game…..

My default is Super fast mode with 300% more speed :overkill_laugh:
Instant or faster than that and i find it gets rather choppy:conwayshrug:)

When I go faster than "instant", it breaks causality. Then I gotta rebuild the universe, again.:steamfacepalm:

This guy did it with what was said here, no defense remove it first, vulnerable/strength/attack. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxm9xNTcR0s&ab_channel=Baalorlord

I've seen it done but by the time I got to the donut twins boss, I died (and was 2 mins over). Tried this strategy a lot - die in act 3.

He also mentioned to turn v-synch off and change the frame rate to max esp if you are going with defect. I found his videos to be the best in explaining things (his watcher is great) but also nice and not all about bragging etc.

I also think I need to borrow my husband's touchscreen laptop as think that will be faster than my old mouse and I'm older too.

I've been trying, giving it a break and going for my only other ach to get - 'who need relics' was trying to do the same strategy but with some block failing miserably but I haven't played much with ironclad prefer defect and silent so might try them today for the 1 relic achievement.
