The only possible downside is that its run based so you will build your deck as a run progresses but when you complete that game the deck you built is gone and you start again from scratch in the next one. That said you unlock new cards for each character as you progress that will appear in future games, and each of the 4 playable characters in the base game plays very differently with a whole lot of cards and themes that are specific to each of them.
As mentioned above its completely single player, but its a great game :)
There are actually two multiplayer mods, Together in Spire being the more notable one and it works pretty much flawlessly for the amount of code and work that can go into making a multiplayer mod for SP game.
How good is the replay-ability?
coz I don't wanna get bored after a few hours...
Theres a fair few gameplay vids of it on YT so maybe have a look to see what you think if you arent sure. Ive had a lot of fun playing StS and have more than got my moneys worth but can only speak for myself :)
This game is pretty much ONLY replay-ability. That's why lots of people have ~1,000 hours in it. It's a roguelike, so it's designed to give you a new experience each time you play it.
I actually disagree with LHGreen when it comes to mods. There are a lot of just OK mods, but there are a lot of incredible ones too. Downfall, Ruina, Replay The Spire, Library of Ruina (and Extra), and a LOT of character mods like the Firefly, Servant, Cursed, Marisa, etc are all notably really, really good. To the point that I don't play the base game anymore.
Sorry, I wasn't referring to ALL mods, I was only talking about the ones that add multiplayer, specifically. Of which I've only heard of two, and also heard that, though they work well and feel polished and professional, they're just sort of okay, not really that great.
Don't.
Yeah, games that only provide about 600 hours worth of content are such a ripoff.
