Snecko Eye is the worst boss relic in the game

I guess lol... you could argue that you would still be getting much more value out of the vault had you been able to play more than 5 cards before popping it. Vault is just a good card.

Once you're able to stance dance, you will be crying at how many cards you could have played had you not taken choker. 6 cards is pitiful on watcher for sure. Flurry of blows is also a thing, except it isn't with choker. The list goes on... but yea, it's pretty easy to be playing 6+ cards by act 2.

How to have enough energy? 3 base + 1 choker + 1 miracle + 2 for stance out of calm = 7 energy that's not hard to come by, and that's on a very basic deck. Oh, and miracle counts as a card play RIPs.

Yea, it's bad on watcher. The fact that vault is useful in literally any deck known to man does not make up for this.

Obviously you don't take Choker if you're trying to go infinite, or at least semi-infinite. But you're also probably not playing Vault on the big turn, it's more of an early setup tool while you find Rushdown and thin your draw pile.

No trying to say it's impossible... I'm sure someone can find some "pro" run where they masterfully showcase how to pull off A20H with choker watcher. But it's very limiting to a deck that has the highest potential for card spam in the game. It's like taking a hammer to hammer in a screw... it will work, sure, but it's also kinda dumb.

If anyone is curious about what one of the top players in the world thinks about these relics (as opposed to just random internet doods), I would suggest checking these out. He doesn't really go in-depth because he would need at least (4 classes * 3 acts) 12 different tier lists, but it's still enlightening to hear his overall impressions regarding them.

Just came back to this game after a long break. Resumed my defect on ascension 16. Got Snecko eye. Immediate win. Feels pretty good.

And how many runs have you had where a 5 card hand didn't draw what you needed at all? "Snecko sucks because one time I got a bad roll once" isn't the right way to look at it, that's just confirmation bias.

i mean that's all it could take to end a run, one bad roll with most of your hand being 2-3s can easily break it. And it has huge anti-synergy with Runic Pyramid, which I probably overvalue but love it a lot more than Snecko Eye.

One bad 5 card hand can end a run too. The question you should be asking is whether Snecko Eye is more likely to kill you than not having Snecko Eye, and statistically the answer is no.
