Save file not syncing between steam deck and laptop

Hi,
When i play Slay the spire on the steam deck, the save file is never the same between the deck and my laptop, despite syncing with the cloud. For instance in the laptop the save file has me mid run in a watcher run whilst in the deck i am playing as defect. No amount of syncing has been able to change this. Is saving mid run not possible across both machines?

This game's cloud integration has never been perfectly reliable. If you care, you can use Steam Deck's desktop mode to access the game files and physically carry them from one device to the other.

Yikes . That’s a lot of work. Well guess I will just stick to one device then.

I have a similar issue with the cloud saves on the deck. I started playing on deck primarily and when I attempted to open the game on PC it says my play stats are up to date but when I click to continue a run it put me back to my 1st run ever which is weird. It seems to sync up everything but the latest run I guess?
