Blue Candle/Necronomicon Relic Interaction
For those that does know/remember;

Blue Candle;
Curse cards can now be played. Playing a Curse will make you lose 1 HP and Exhuasts the card.

Necronomicon;
The first Attack played each turn that costs 2 or more is played twice. When you take this relic, become Cursed.

When obtaining Necronomicon , you get the card "Necronomicurse";Unplayable. There is no escape from this curse.

With Blue Candle it let's you play the card, you lose 1 HP and the card does it's Exhuast-animation, then; Necronomicurse slides right back into your hand.

It stays true to it's; "There is no escape from this Curse"; so you can play and lose health as many times you want.

Opens a possibility for cards like;

  • Ironclad's "Blood for Blood"; Costs 1 less energy for each time you lose HP in combat. Deal 16 damage.

  • Ironclad's "Dark Embrace"; Whenever a card is Exhuasted, draw 1 card.

    And many other card-possibilites! Something I stumbled upon, just wanted to share.

I ended up with this combo + Dead Branch, in a deck that was already built as an exhaust deck, (so drawing cards and gaining block and drawing cards, eventually even picked up the damage on exchaust relic).

My worst possible play, once I got set up was basically turning it into a repeatable "pay 1 hp for 12 block, draw 2 cards, gain 1 random card", completely stomped bosses (especially since all my skills ended up exhausted), and could reasonably often end up getting a +energy card, and start playing even more things.

In one of my runs I got those 2 relics plus Rupture and Feel No Pain, so the Necronomic Curse became: "lose 1 Hp, Gain 6 Block, Gain 1 Strength" in the end I one shotted the boss with a big Body Slam for 300+damage
Yes, as I pointed out earlier today, Rupture is an amazing card to use with that relic combo.

If you can get Charon's Ashes, or even Panache, then it becomes completely absurd.

Dead Branch / Dark Embrace kind of ruin it though, since they fill your hand, eventually forcing Necronomicurse into the discard pile.

I wonder if a Blue Candle + Necronomicurse run would be viable with the Silent? The only green card I can think atm that would benefit from it is Thousand Cuts.

After image would too technically, but 1 hp for 1 block isn't the best value proposition. :awkward:
