ascension level 4, impossible to beat?

I am currently at level 4 with the knight and I have played it dozens of times and can not beat it. I have gotten to the final boss, about 50% of the time, but I physically can not do enough damage to them before about round 5-7 the boss does an average of 90 damage per turn. Is anyone else having this much trouble? I also find it extremely difficult to get any farther than ascension level 2 with the poison guy since he can not heal.

Well, another guy five posts down had exactly the same complaint, so yes, someone else is having trouble. If you're having problems doing damage, you might be over-prioritizing defensive cards. Good defensive with mediocre offense can get you through the levels okay, but the bosses are basically all designed to punish you for doing that. For the Silent, "Thousand Cuts" style builds tend to be the most consistent, IMO. They don't literally need to have Thousand Cuts in the deck, but basically anything that rewards spamming cards. Other cards like Choke or Envenom also support this style, and Kunai Knives/Shuriken are great relics for this. Shive builds are kind of a subset of this archetype. For the Ironclad, Strength-based builds tend to be the most consistent to set up. One copy of Demon Form may be all you need to get through a boss fight, but basically any strength-boosting card will pay off well.

remember that the point of ascension is to be harder.
yes most people will lose more oftem, but its defenitly beatable some players are even trying to winstreak in ascencion 15. I am currently at level 8. just keep playing and you will sure too get better.

Some people are having more trouble, and after lots of attempts still can't beat normal, but higher level ascensions are definitely not impossible, as some people can win the max level ascension a large portion of the time.

It's hard to know what exactly you are doing wrong, but it must be that in some ways you are doing suboptimal strategies.

Also, the silent is female, not a "he".

By the way, i dont even win ascension level 1 and before ascension i even win 3 times in a row.

I beat ascension 15 on both characters and can do so semi-consistently. Ascension 4 is definitely possible, you just need to play more and get better at the game.

are you saying that there is only 2 genders?
By the way, i dont even win ascension level 1 and before ascension i even win 3 times in a row.

I'm saying that the character select screen refers to her as a "huntress".

Also, the only difference between ascension 1 and normal is there are more elites on the map.

I was "the guy five posts down" lol. Your tips helped me finally cleat A4 with ironclad, thanks. It is true that I was playing too defensively. With a more aggressive playstyle and prioritizing strength cards, it was an easy clear.

Yeah, the two characters kind of require opposite playstyles. The best ironclad decks rely on getting a lot out of each card played, with strength gain or other means to build up to getting huge damage out of one attack. The silent on the other hand, is best off focusing on playing as many cards as possible per turn to have them add up, with that boosted by some powers that trigger whenever you play a card (also, to that effect she has a lot of draw and discard cards to help you get the cards you need as otherwise you only draw 5 a turn, and if half your deck is 0 energy cards that can be a waste of energy).
