Am I wrong for hating the madness event
They are really good cards when upgraded, but I find myself annoyed every time I get the event. It dilutes your deck by 2 cards and hurts you. It always seems to happen when I'm going for a small deck ...
They are kind of useless until you get them upgraded, unless you have a bunch of 2+ cost cards in your deck. Which means they steal the priority for the next two bonfires you hit.
I just wish the event was tweaked, so maybe isntead of two madness cards you take one upgraded madness, or something like that.
thoughts?

It really dilutes your deck a lot unless you run a heavy - cost deck like a perfected strike build. The fact that Madness takes up a space in your deck and not cycles it (like Flash of Steel, Dropkick etc) makes it even worse

Right, I think they are good cards if you are playing as ironclad. But if you are silent they are usually useless since most of her cards only cost 1 to play

Great cards when they cost 0: Acrobatics, backflip, burst, sneaky strike, bouncing flask, leg sweep, dash, expertise, etc.

What sucks is that you have to choose one, but what if you really want to draw an important power? Usually the net gain with madness is better in long fights, but I, too, sometimes wonder if it was really necessary and whether I could've handled the curse instead which would've allowed me a more controlled upgraded at the next rest site.

It is a good event design wise, even though I don't like to encounter it. negative events that challenge you to pick the lesser evil and make a tough decision need to exist as well.

I think it's mostly a positive event. Double madness is only a slight discomfort the first time around then they exhaust and the deck becomes a tiny bit smoother. It's better if it hits 2 cost cards 4 sure, but free cards are free cards. Also my decks usually have a lot of card draw/cycle.

I don't think I'll ever be happy to encounter it, even if the Madness would be helpful. Generally the upgrade priority is a middling amount for me, as my deck should already be running fairly well by that point, so having a couple enhanced dazes in there doesn't hurt too much, and the positive effects can be huge if you can manipulate them in the right decks.

The only deck type I can see it being really negative in is hyper-aggressive decks that don't tend to shuffle more than 1 or 2 times. Really like it being in the game though.

Well, Whenever I find the event, I don't really mind it.
2 Madness cards is better than a curse anyways.. Unless you're running a Vu-Du-Doll strength stack deck.
It's nice to use on high cost cards too if you're lucky, and it keeps a high-cost card like that the entire battle. Especially helpful when you need to 0 off certain cards like Barricade and Demon form, or even bludgeon.

It does have its downsides though, if most of your cards are 0 cost already.

I don't exactly hate the event. I find it pretty helpful, actually. :P

Let's say it's one of the best event when your deck is less than 10 cards. When you have more than 30 cards, it's really a bad event since it will take two places in your hand for cards you will probably never see again.
I don't think i've ever had a deck that was below 20 cards but i still grab madness anyways

Just like that curse you get for healing yourself.

You could have onomamori or a shop to remove it just after. I also regularly take the curse actually when on a large deck and just forget about it since I knos I will see once at the beginning and maybe once again.

Yes, that's exactly what I implied uwu
