Watch some gameplay and see if that's your thing.
You need to know a few things if you're interested purely because of streamers on Twitch.
I've seen a few things happen with a lot of similar games, Enter the Gungeon and Dead Cells are two big examples.
These things happen because of people buying into a popular game without understanding what a roguelite is (if you know what a roguelite is, this is for other curious readers).
You do not keep any progress between runs, if you die, you start from the very beginning with just the basics (plus a bonus if you reached atleast the first boss on your last run as that class).
Beating the game is not the point of the game, but it is the goal of each run.
Roguelites are designed around playing through repeatedly.
They are the optimal choice of game type if you are short on cash and want a game that will entertain you more per dollar than most games.
Edit: Oh, and failure is much more common than success. You WILL lose a lot more than you win, unless you have the godliest of luck and are a strategic genius.
I'll let someone else explain the specifics unique to this particular game, like the card aspect and .. maybe relics.
You don't even own it, though?
Decent amount of technicality / strategy provided.
Can get too random at the end stages of the game.
EDIT : Read the game reviews. There are thousands. Watch a gameplay from youtube.
So this isn't as much of a problem as it sounds.
If you want content (time playing vs. repeatative content), you'll want to wait until it progresses further in EA.
If you want to save money (ie. steam sale), you'll be waiting for at least a year. They want to leave EA in Summer 2018, raise the price when going gold and then you might see it at a winter or spring sale.
if you like games like super meat boy with the relic system. then this game isworth the play.
For me it is a simple but very tasty morsel of roguelite. It is fairly replayable, despite its short length of about an hour (if you actually win ;p). It is deep not wide.
This game is already worth the money, it looks nice, it sounds nice. Two thumbs up, if you don't mind cards, and you like rogues.
