Don't be surprised by this, it's been like this ever since arcade was a thing.
Even worse is when the leaderboard is permanant, what's the point in trying then?
Even if you had the best score possible, you might just have a rank of 108 since the other 107 cheated to imposible scores, it's just not worth trying at that point.
At less daily or weekly leaderboards reset, so it's less of a problem.
I was speaking about single player games (ANY single player games) using leaderboards is always overun with cheaters and that it's pointless to even think about it. (Like you said at the end, but you wre talking about THIS game daily in particular, i was talking about gaming in general.)
Don't matter if it's a daily, weekly or permanent leaderboards, you will always have cheaters around, even multiplayers is not safe.
Removing them is pointless, even more so if it's a weekly or daily like you talk about, since they get removed anyway the next day.
Not much esle to say here, except ignoring them completely.
EDIT : It could be much worse, at less you don't have the top 100 filled with cheaters at all times, like many other games i know.
"I just dont see any point to having a score in the daily if this is the result. There a way to ban the users from the list on your end? Not to play the game, just to be posted on the Board. So we can actually have a fair chance"
Im fully aware and mentioned that. Even suggested getting rid of the score and just having the mods
"Or just get rid of the score and have just daily modifiers"
.....No one reads.,...Meh...forget i asked...Theres no point to asking devs anything on Steam. Its just an annoying process for reasons like this.
You're missing something in your post...a suggestion on how the problem could be solved.
Here is my take on it (If you actually care):
They could be an anti-cheat calculating what is the absoulute max score of a particular daily then auto-remove anyone that got over it, but then if something weird hapends that shot your score up that the anti-cheat don't consider, then you have other problems.
That wont stop those that use invincibility codes and infinite money to get that max score homever, so you aslo need a system in place to track how much gold, health, mana (even potions) ect...you have at all times and set your score to 0 if anything is tempered with.
No much esle to say i guess, except that devs(Not just this game, but any game.) rarely takes ideas form the forums unless it's a popular opinion.
Since when was that a requirement to post feedback. Im not a developer. I dont know what the best course of action would be nor would i even try to suggest one. That doesnt mean the fact that one cant say anything. If you dont represent the company to any capacity, please dont answer for them. If they dont care to answer, they dont answer. It isnt the end of the world. You dont know what they are doing in the office so please dont suggest they dont care. Im sure they do to a degree. If you dont work for them, please dont suggest you know exactly what they are doing.
also i did suggest they get rid of the scores. Its the logical conclusion. But that apparently isnt a suggestion in your eyes. Or you are just refusing to acknowledge it. i Mean, I literally posted it again to someone else right above you. It was also the very last line of the OP.
Those sound like good ideas.
If you cant see why, then what does it matter. Cant you just understand feedback? These arent questions for you nor is it asking for your opinion on the matter.
A good exemple is with streamers, with whoever is watching a few will try to beat the streamer score for exemple, or sometimes the streamer will even try to best other streamers.
It's not just about getting the high score, it's aslo about beating your friends and again, just a way to know how well you did compared to others.
Edit : I just looked at your post history and you seem like the type of person that is not able to see the other side of the coin, with that said, im out now. Good day.
Ikr?
And since this tread was aparently deleted then came back, i might has well post this.
No, feedback is not pointless... in fact it actually helps the dev make a decision, looking if the general public agree with an idea or not.
If it's a popular opinion, chances are it's gonna change something.
